Strengthening Social Responsibility Beyond Education
D.A.V. Model School, in collaboration with PGI Chandigarh and the Merchant Navy Officers Association, organized a Blood Donation Camp on 4th October 2025 in the school auditorium. The event was held under the aegis of the Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, New Delhi and Arya Yuva Samaj, Sector 15, Chandigarh with the objective of promoting the spirit of community service and saving lives through voluntary blood donation.
The camp was graced by Justice Hemant Gupta, former judge of the Supreme Court of India and chairperson of the India Internal Arbitration Centre, New Delhi, as the chief guest. His presence inspired all present, highlighting the importance of civic responsibility and compassionate service. The event was further honoured by the presence of Principal R.C. Jeewan, vice-chairman of the school, who extended his valuable support and encouragement to this noble cause.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from staff, parents, alumni and other community members. A team of experienced doctors and paramedics from PGI Chandigarh ensured all medical protocols were strictly followed.
Volunteers from the Arya Yuva Samaj and student representatives assisted in registration, guiding donors and spreading awareness about the importance of blood donation. Refreshments and certificates of appreciation were provided to all donors as a token of gratitude.
In total, over 104 units of blood were collected during the camp — a significant contribution that will help save countless lives. The event also helped raise awareness among students about the value of selfless service and civic responsibility.
Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma expressed her heartfelt thanks to the donors, collaborating organizations and volunteers who made the event a grand success.
