Bhajan Sandhaya
An auspicious evening on 4th Nov 2022 under the aegis of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha was organized in the protals of DAV 15 chandigarh. As a divine amalgamation of values of Arya Samaj , melodious echoes of chants of Vedic Mantra’s, spreading happiness and contentment could be heard in the vicinity of the school.
The idea behind these celebrations has its strong foundation in age old traditions and values as laid down by Arya Samaj acknowledging and appreciating the contribution of Swami Dayanand Ji for the upliftment of education. The Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma, teachers and students of DAV-15 rejuvenated with the blessings of Arya Samaj resolved to create and evolve religious and pious ambience.
Shri H.R Gandhar, Vice President DAV CMC presided the pious Sandhya as chief guest. The evening was attended by dignitaries , LMC members, PTA Members, Arya Samaj Sector 16 , Residents of Sector 15, Alumni and Principals from Tricity visited the event.
Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma felt elated to organize this pious evening showcasing the ideals of Arya Samaj.
220 students and teachers from Classes 1 to XII participated in the chanting of Bhajans. An online Essay Writing Competition was also organized in which students from DAV and other schools participated with lots of enthusiasm for which the prizes were awarded to deserving candidates. These essay’s were complied in a book named BAL NIBANDH SANGRAHA and was released by Honorable Professor Dr. Vikram Viveki

GREEN DIWALI- SWACCHH DIWAL

Diwali, the festival of lights was celebrated with lot of gaiety and fervour in DAV-15 by the students of Eco Club Sampada. The celebrations started with recitation on OM creating sancity of the festival. Students presented a spectacular show comprising of a medley of activities on the stage symbolising festive spirit of Diwali like skits, speeches and poems.The students also performed Nukkad Natak highlighting the need to celebrate Green Diwali.Muppetry and Puppetry by Yuvsatta was a delightful presentation and was enthusiastically enjoyed by all the students.
Honourable Principal Anuja Sharma and the Chief Guest, Shri Brij Bhushan , Scientist from the Department of Environment blessed the students amidst the melodious echoing chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”.The Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma blessed the students on this pious festival and motivated them to eat well, maintain safety measures and enjoy green and safe Diwali to ensure healthy environment.The principal,students and teachers took an oath to promote green Diwali celebrations by avoiding harmful effects of crackers and poisonous chemicals emitted from the crackers.
The function ended on a happy and festive note.


International Day of Girl Child
Chandigarh, October 11: Today, celebrating International Day of Girl Child, School girls of DAV Model School, Sector 15 , Chandigarh from classes 6 to 12 wore pink turbans symbolising compassion and love.
Sharing information about the endeavour Mrs. Anuja Sharma, Principal of DAV Model School, Sector 15A said that the School girls wearing Pink Turbans,and pink stoles showcased solidarity with the cause. She also added that Turban- Pagri is a symbol of honour and respect in all the regions .So, the idea is to give a strong message of ‘‘RISING GIRLS & EMPOWERED NATION.”
She said that it’s time for girls and women to raise their voices for their fundamental rights of education, healthcare, equality & human rights bestowed upon them by the constitution of India. And until & unless they feel empowered from inside and take a stand to claim their due rights, one can’t expect any drastic change in their position in society.
A plethora of activities were undertaken by students with lot of enthusiastic zeal.A play was enacted by students of Class 4 based on the life of eminent women.Students of Class 8,9&10 participated in poetry recitation,Rap, speeches, kathak dance and save girl child dance .The event ended on a happy note.

(Blood Donation Camp)
`Share a little, Care a little, Donate Blood’

As an earnest endeavour to serve humanity and illuminate the life in peril, DAV-15 Chandigarh organised on Oct 08,2022from 9:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the school premises. The camp was undertaken under the aegis of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha, Chandigarh with the joint collaboration of Rotary Club, City Beautiful.
Hon’ble Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma and her team had been working fervently to make this mega event a success. As a motivating leader, she ignited the spirit among her staff and students to put in their whole-hearted endeavours for this humanitarian task.
Many NSS Volunteers, Alumni members, Rotarians, General public from the vicinity of sector-15, Staff Members, Students and their parents joined hands together to support this noble cause.
A team of doctors from Blood Centr,Sector 37, Chandigarh Dr. Manish Raj, Director and Dr Roll Agarwal,BloodTransfusion Officer conducted the camp and ensured the safety of the donors.Rtn Praveen.C.Goyal was the Chief Guest for the event. He congratulated the school Principal and Staff for conducting the camp for a noble cause. He was accompanied with Rtn Rakesh Mittal and Rtn Isha Garg.They applauded the arduous efforts of all present to make this event a successful venture.
Various dignitaries , all Honourable LMC Members of the school, Arya Samaj members and Rotarians visited the venue to bless the donors.Adequate supply of healthy foods were offered as refreshment to the Donors. They were also awarded with a certificate and a memento as a token of appreciation for their kind gesture.
Total 170 participants registered and 90 units of blood were collected by volunteers who enthusiastically participated and came forward to manage the event and support society for their life saving gift of blood.
Maan Samaan Divas

Maan Samaan Divas –an event commemorating Grandparents Day was organised in the portals of DAV Model School, SECTOR 15 A, Chandigarh with lot of zeal and fervour. Grandparents of students of Pre Primary and Primary classes attended the event .Principal, Anuja Sharma welcomed all the grandparents and thanked them all from the core of her heart to make this event a grand success. She shared her gratitude to the grandparents for being the great support system to their grandchildren and providing them the roots of beliefs, values and their valuable assistance at every step of their life.
The event started with a pious beginning of 11 havan kundliya yajana amidst chanting of vedic mantras by the Principal,Mrs Anuja Sharma, parents, grandparents,staff members seeking the blessings of Almighty. Children expressed their gratitude for the token of love exhibited by grand parents in their daily lives and the quality time send with them as the most cherished moments.
A medical camp was organised for all the grandparents .
Dr Suruchi Sharda (BHMS,MD(HOM)DNHE from Homeopethic Medical College and Hospital did medical checkup of grand parents
A dental check up was done by Dr Ravi Kumar(MDS)from Vital Dental Multi Speciality Cosmetic and Implant Centre,Sector 15 A,Chandigarh.
A yoga session was also organised to ensure and enhance the physical and mental well being of the grandparents.
The event ended on the Positive note.

Hindi Diwas Celebrations
Hindi Day was celebrated with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm in the vicinity of DAV MODEL SCHOOL SECTOR 15A CHANDIGARH .The Principal,Mrs Anuja Sharma congratulated all on this auspicious occasion and apprised all about the importance of Hindi language.
The day started with pious chants and Havana commemorating Hindi Diwas. A plethora of activities were organised like poetry competition, speeches , quiz .A pledge was taken by all to use Hindi language in different domains of knowledge.

International Day of Clean Air

Tree Plantation Drive by NSS,NCC and Girl Guide Scouts

A Tree Plantation Drive was organised by NSS,NCC and Girl Guide Scouts of DAV Model School,Sector 15,Chandigarh. The Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma motivated the students and volunteers to plant more trees to protect environment.
The volunteers planted saplings of useful shady trees - mango,,jamun and Guava in an open area near a temple named Bhiwani Mandir in the NSS adopted village ,Khuda Ali
Sher.
The Sarpanch ,Mr Hukam Chand talked to the students and appreciated their efforts for protecting environment by planting trees.

Rakshabandhan Celebrations
NSS volunteers of DAV Model School, Sector 15 A Chandigarh organised special occasion to commemorate Rakshabandhan. Principal,Mrs Anuja Sharma congratulated all and extended her greetings on this auspicious occasion by tying Rakhi on the wrists of office and supporting staff members of the school along with the NSS Volunteers.
A melange of activities were conducted among all the students. Students recited poems, sang songs , made cards and colourful Rakhi’s . The school vibrated with enthusiastic activities to mark the festival of love , affection and trust.

JANAMASHTMI CELEBRATIONS

The pious festival of Janamashtami was celebrated with lot of enthusiastic fervour and religious sanctity in the portals of DAV15. The Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma was elated to see the vibrant tiny tots dressed up in colourful attires impersonating Lord Krishna ,Radha and Gopis. She congratulated all and blessed them for their arduous devotion to keep the festive spirit alive.The students of PRE-PRIMARY Classes were enlightened by the teachers about the life history of Lord Krishnas childhood .Teachers had wonderfully displayed the life story of Lord Krishna in a colourful tableaux which was a colourful feast to the tiny tots and fascinated them. A plethora of activities were conducted by the students .Impersonation of Lord Krishna as a mentor , Raslila , poetry recitation and dances associated with the festive celebration were the main attraction of the event .

Independence Day Celebrations

In continuation with Independence Day,celebrations as a proud moment for everyone as we approach the 75 th Independence Day on August 15, 2022, the Principal,Anuja Sharma along with the staff and students celebrated freedom movement with many activities.
The Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma highlighted that annual observance of the day has a great significance for commemorating our brave leaders and freedom fighters of history who won us the freedom we are enjoying today.On this great occasion, DAV 15 came up with a lot of patriotic Independence Day celebrations and activities to help students learn more about the significance of the day.
Independence Day Celebrations were conducted on August 12 , 2022 in the activity period. All class teachers conducted Independence Day activities in their classes.CLASS 1 ( All sections )made the Indian Flag with pluses.Students of Classes 2 to 5 made Indian Flag with colourful craft sheets. Students from Classes 6 to 10made tricoloured wall hangings.Students from Classes 11 and 12 wrote Self composed poem. ( An Ode To A soldier)
They also wrote an open letter to the soldiers paying their respect for their services to the Nation.
All the students made tricolour flags and sang patriotic songs exhibiting the sanctity of the day. The school vicinity was dipped in tricolour hues and nationalist fervour.


Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign
NSS volunteers of DAV Model School,Sector 15 , Chandigarh spread awareness regarding Har Ghar Tiranga with lot of enthusiasm The .Volunteers participated in various activities like speeches,poetry recitation,poster making,rally to mark the event under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage Indian citizen to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark 75th year of India's Independence with lot of gaiety.
The Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma highlighted the importance of Tiranga for all the citizens of India.She blessed the volunteers for their active participation .


EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS
Earth Day was celebrated by the Principal, Staff and students of DAV Model School Sector 15 A Chandigarh with great enthusiasm. A plethora of activities were organised by the Sampada Eco Club on the theme,”Invest in our Planet”.
The Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma highlighted the need to save the mother earth by saving the natural resources. The Principal, staff and students took pledge to heal mother earth by planting more trees,saving water,electricity and all the natural resources to promote sustainable development .
Fancy dress competition based on the theme ,Mother Earth was conducted in Classes Pre Nursery till 2nd. Students from classes 3rd till 12th participated enthusiastically in slogan writing ,poster making and drawing competitions.
A special assembly was conducted by Sampada Eco Club in which the students showcased their love for Mother Earth by their arduous participation in prayer dance, speeches, poems and street play.A signature campaign was taken up by NSS Volunteers to save the planet Earth.The event ended on a happy note.
Mahatma Hansraj Day
Mahatma Hansraj Day was celebrated enthusiastically in the portals of DAV MODEL SCHOOL SECTOR 15A CHANDIGARH to pay homage to the great educationist and social regormer.The Principal,Mrs Anuja Sharma congratulated all the students and staff members on this auspicious occasion and apprised all present about the importance of his values of simple living and high thinking.
Students from Class Pre Nursery to Class 12 participated in a melange of activities. Students made posters,wrote slogans and gave enlightening speeches highlighting the ideals and values of Mahatma Hansraj. A quiz was also organised to enhance their knowledge about the great educationist The school resonated with pious Mantra Ucharan.
The students of pre primary block were traditionally attired in yellow clothes. The celebrations ended on a happy note
Baisakhi Celebrations
Baisakhi, the festival of harvest heralding the dawn of spring was celebrated enthusiastically in the portals of DAV MODEL SCHOOL SECTOR 15A CHANDIGARH .The principal,Mrs Anuja Sharma congratulated all the students and staff members on this auspicious occasion and apprised all present about the importance of the rich culture and heritage of our country.
Students from Class Pre Nursery to Class 12 participated in a melange of activities. A vibrant folk dance of Punjab _ Giddha was the main attraction.The students remembered the i massacre of Jallianwala Bagh and it's implications in the freedom movement of India.
The students of pre primary block were traditionally attired in yellow clothes and brought yellow dishes marking the festive fervour.
They made craft items like yellow drums, kites ,spirals signifying the sanctity of the festival. They also wrote articles and poems on the importance of baisakhi.Colourful drawings and posters were made with lot of zeal and liveliness. The celebrations ended on a happy note.
WORLD HEALTH DAY

World Health Day was organized by NSS Volunteers,NCC Cadets and Girl Guides of DAV Model School Sector 15 Chandigarh .They shared cognizance of importance and implications of World Health Organization through the arena of articles, speeches, slogans and posters. Slogans were raised to “Eat healthy food and remain healthy”. Students actively participated in quiz competition based on good health and related issues .
Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma gave informative tips on healthy lifestyle and balanced diet She highlighted the need to maintain physical as well as mental health by adopting healthy measures The students promised to eat healthy food to be energetic and be a productive for the welfare of humanity.

Orientation For Parents

An orientation programme, “First Step” was organized for the parents seeking admission of their ward in Pre-Primary Block of DAV -15, Chandigrah.
The event started with a welcome speech by the Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma. She highlighted the need to impart quality education & sensitize the students in intellectual, social and moral dimensions of life.
This was followed by a counseling session by the school counselor Mrs. Tanisha who addressed the parents on various domains of child psychology. She also showcased the development of a child with respect to physical, spiritual and motor coordination.
There was active participation of parents in this interactive session. They also participated with their children in interaction with the educators.The main attraction were the Art and craft activities,selfie corner with the colourful jokers,tattoos in midst of jingles and children songs.It was a fun packed day for the children seeking admission in junior wing.
A vote of thanks was expressed by the junior coordinator Mrs. Hema Punj.

AASHIRWAD-Farewell 2022

The school today bid adieu to the students of Class 12. Most of them were in school since class Nursery. It was a nostalgic moment for teachers and students to part with each other. Innumerable dances on the popular numbers were presented by the students of eleventh class. The dances were very eye catching and enjoyed by the spectators. Melodious songs were sung by the students of eleventh class.
The entire venue echoed with serene and melodious songs. The folk dance of Ladakh dance was mesmerizing. Many students narrated their pleasant experiences of stay in school. The principal of the school Mrs.Anuja Sharma, distributed mementos as reminiscences to the outgoing children. She also whole heartedly blessed them for a beautiful life ahead. Star achievers who excelled in the field of academics and NSS were awarded.
A modelling session was also held separately for boys and girls. The result is as follows.

World Water Day
“Water, water everywhere, not even a drop to drink” is a crucial issue to ponder upon. This was raised in the assembly of DAV Model School, 15-A, Chandigarh on the occasion of World Water Day . The event started with the slogan “Lets conserve water for future” raised by enthusiastic members of Peace & Eco club. The issues related to shortage of fresh water were highlighted.
The principal, Mrs. Anuja Sharma motivated all present to conserve water for sustainable development of this precious natural resource. To reduce, reuse, recycle, save & utilize every single drop of water, a pledge was taken by Mrs. Anuja Sharma, teachers & supporting staff.
Through the medium of various speeches, poems & stories , the teachers spread awareness on important issues like improved access to water, sanitation & hygiene facilities & need to advocate sustainable management of fresh water resources. The supporting staff made posters to promote water conservation .The members of Eco Sampada Club apprised the supporting staff with tips to save water.

Counselling Session on ‘Self Awareness Managing Challenges and Stress in Post Covid ’

A Counselling Session on ‘Self Awareness Managing Challenges and Stress in Post Covid ’ was organized in the portals of DAV Model School Sector- 15 A, Chd. by Ms. Meenakshi Rawal, Renowned Behavioural Psychologist and Clinical Hypnotherapist for the students of class 10th.
Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma highlighted the need to counsel the students on the issues related to self awareness to meet challenges and Stress in Post Covid for the optimal use of their potential abilities, which would substantiate their efficient performance.
Ms. Meenakshi Rawal showcased different strategies for enhancement of self awareness of skills , practice to enhance them , and increase their potential to face stress and challenges thereby leading to higher self esteem. She also stressed upon the use of multi sensory approach to learning. Significance of daily practice of meditation, positive self talk, visualization, deep breathing and effective study habit was also emphasized. Various queries of students were addressed in the end of session. The students felt highly rejuvenated and motivated to cope up with stress in Post Covid times.

NSS Camp
15-feb-2022
A week long Special NSS Camp was inaugurated in the portals of DAV Model School,sector 15 , Chandigarh on the theme "Physical and Mental health" under the guidance and leadership of respected Principal ma'am Ms.Anuja Sharma.
Ms. Ritika Verma NSS National Awardee 2019-20 Unit Coordinator, NSS Open Unit, Chandigarh graced the occasion with her motivational and inspirational talk.Her address focussed on pride of being NSS volunteer.
NSS volunteers intiated the camp showcasing variuos activities like poetry recitation,singing patriotic songs, making best out of waste,essay writing competition on the theme of ‘ challenging social issues of India’ ,kite flying on Basant Panchami ,sharing of views on various social issues , attending skill development workshop etc.They participated in various activities like talk on mental health by Psychologist Ms.Tanisha, Personal hygiene Talk by Dr. Lovely .
The closing ceremony of NSS camp was marked by a philanthropic effort of NSS volunteers by inviting underprivileged children of Maharishi Dayanand Bal Ashram as the guest of honour and distributing woollens to the children. A cultural program was organised by NSS volunteers under the theme 'Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat' im which they exhibited various activities like poetry recitation patroitic songs, nukad natak on women empowerment,dance and speeches.
Principal Ms.Anuja Sharma congratulated the volunteers for successful completion of the camp and motivated them to engage themselves regularly in social service.

REPUBLIC DAY
Republic Day was commemorated in the portals of D.A.V. Model School, Sector-15A, Chandigarh with lot of Nationalist and Patriotic fervour. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated all present on this auspicious day and motivated them to enthuse the spirit of unity and harmony among themselves for promoting universal brotherhood.
The event started with hoisting of the flag followed by the rendition of Vande Mataram and National Anthem. It was a spectacular view created by the release of balloons in the sky depicting different hues of orange, green and white exhibiting peace, prosperity and purity.
The NCC cadets,NSS Volunteers and Girl Guides virtually enthralled everyone with a wonderful and well co-ordinated cultural programme.The school organised a plethora of patriotic competitions to apprise the students from Class Pre Nursery to Class 12 about the importance of the day.Tri coloured badge making was accomplished artistically by the students of Classes Pre Nursery to KG. Students of Classes 1 and 2 made lovely Independence day decorative tri colour paper bunting using origami.Students of Classes 3 to 5 made Unity doll showcasing the maxim of " United we stand".Students of Classes 9and 10 made tri colour paper flowers to pay tribute to the freedom fighters. Students of Classes 11 and 12 made tri coloured peacocks paying their tribute to the Nation.
A melange of activities were virtually organised by the students from Class Pre Nursery to X11. The school website vibrated with the resonance of Slogans of Vande Matram, Patriotic songs, speeches and colourful dances showcasing the love and respect for our Nation.The event ended with a vote of thanks.

Investiture Ceremony 2021-2022
Investiture ceremony was held in the portals of DAV-15 Chandigarh to elect student council as the responsible leaders of the school for its efficient working. School Head Boy {Anmol Sharma } and Head Girl (Jannat Chugh} , Class representatives , Swachatta Ambassadors and Health Ambassadors from classes 1-12 Presidents and secretaries from different creative clubs, house captains and vice captains, executive members of school council felt elated to receive the badges .
They were honoured by the school Principal Mrs Anuja Sharma with badges , Mementos and sashes . She motivated them to be role models and set an example before the others . A pledge was also undertaken to ensure honesty and integrity in duties assigned to them.
.A feeling of responsibility and service towards humanity was inculcated among the students .

World Aids day was observed in the portals of DAV MODEL SCHOOL SECTOR 15,CHANDIGARH. A plethora of activities were organised by NSS,NCC and GIRL GUIDE Volunteers of the school .Honourable Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma educated all present about the disease and its causes .She appreciated the efforts of NSS ,NCC and Girl Guide volunteers for spreading awareness in the society.
The students were apprised about the causes and effects of this disease through the arena of Posters, speeches,poems and articles .To disseminate the awareness about aids, the volunteers enlightened all the students through power point presentation about sympotms of Aids and its effects on physical and mental health of people. They showcased the need to make family members and domestic helpers conscious about the precautions for preventing Aids through role play and putting red ribbons (symbol of Aids).All the volunteers raised slogans to combat Aids . They formed a human chain signifying the insignia of red ribbon of Aids and took a pledge to," Hate the disease and not the diseased."

Indian Constitution Day
To mark the 72nd anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution on 26th November,1949, NSS Volunteers,NCC ,Girl guides of DAV Model School ,sector -15 celebrated constitution day. Various competitions like Quiz ,poster making,speeches were organised to spread awareness and apprise the students about Indian constitution.The Principal Ms. Anuja Sharma administered the pledge of the Preamble to the Constitution.The entire school reaffirmed its commitment to the Indian
Constitution by taking the pledge.She delivered the message of preserving the ideals of the constitution.

Children Day Celebration
Children’s Day was celebrated in the portals of DAV 15 Chandigarh, with lot of enthusiasm and gaiety to bring sunshine and laughter among students. The school vibrated and buzzed with laughter and cheer. The day started with pious chanting of Gayatri Mantra followed by yagya to mark the sanctity of the day.Principal Mrs Anuja Sharma blessed the children with her affectionate blessings and highlighted their integral importance in the school and the social set up. She added that these young saplings blossomed into wonderful flowers under the able guidance of their elders.
Teachers organised a special programme showering their affable blessings, love and affection.Students from all classes showcased their talents in a medley of activities –songs, dances and speeches.
It was a power-packed day with a plethora of fun filled activities organised by teachers for the students.Students were awarded prizes for their commendable essays in the essay writing competition organised by National Fertilizers Limited in the school during Vigilance Awareness Week ..The theme of the essay writing competition was “Vigilance Awareness “.Mr Gurmeet Singh, Vigilance Officer awarded prizes to the meritorious students. Agam (1s prize),Jannat(2nd Prize),Anmol Sharma (3rd Prize),Hrishti(4th Prize) . The Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma along with all the staff members and students took a pledge to safeguard the country from antisocial activities.

“Save girl child for better future “With this aim, NSS ,NCC,Girl India Volunteers of DAV Model School ,Sector 15A, Chandigarh in collaboration with Yuvsatta NGO commemorated International Girl child Day to sensitize about gender equality.Mr Puneesh Jindia ,District Session Judge and MemberSecretary, SLSA, was the Chief Guest. The event was attended by dignitaries,Chairman of the school, Mr R.C.Jeewan and Manager of the school, Mrs Madhu Bahl.Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma, apprised the students about the importance of gender equality and motivated the students to respect and value girls as they play a pivotal role in society. Participants from DAV 15 ,various Government and Private Schools of Tricity formed a human chain ,starting from DAV Model School, Sector 15A, Chandigarh, that culminated in Gandhi Samarak Bhawan,Sector 16,Chandigarh.

Gandhi Jayanti was commemorated by the teachers and students of DAV Model School Sec 15 ,Chandigarh with lot of Nationalist fervor.Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma motivated the students to follow the principles of honesty, simplicity, nonviolence as advocated by father of nation so as to ensure peace and universal brotherhood.She reinforced the students to read books based on the life of Gandhi as exhibited in the school library. The students from classes pre-nursery to 12 were involved in a plethora of activities like poems, posters, skits on Gandhi’s life , Bhajans , speeches and fancy dress.The children presented a spectacular view by impersonating as Gandhi. Role play of Gandhiji and quotes by Mahatma Gandhi resonated from the pre primary students . A virtual tour of Gandhijis life was a peep into various inspiring moments of Gandhijis life.
NSS Volunteers initiated the cleanliness drive under the theme "Clean India Mission ".NSS volunteers highlighted the life and teachings of Gandhijis in speeches and articles . This was followed by poster making., dance performances, songs.Bhajans and recitation of self composed poems by the students mesmerized all present. NSS Day Celebrations were organised by NSS Unit of DAV Model School Sector 15 Chandigarh.Principal,Mrs Anuja Sharma motivated and blessed all the student's to work voluntarily for the benefit of society .She inspired them to engage whole heartedly in community service activities to promote unity, peace and universal brotherhood.Students from all classes were engaged in a melange of activities _Poetry recitation, songs ,dance performance ,and speeches on the importance of NSS were shared by students..NSS Gaan was sung by all present with lot of vigour and zeal. Ozone Day was celebrated virtually and offline by the students and teachers and Sampras club of DAV Model School Sector 15 Chandigarh.Principal,Mrs Anuja Sharma highlighted the need to protect ozone layer.There were discussions on Montreal protocol.Students participated with a lot of enthusiasm in a melange of activities__ debates,self composed poems,inter class competitions on slogan writing,poster making .It was a great learning experience for all the students.

Say No to Plastics Drive
NSS volunteers of DAV 15 conducted an awareness drive against the single use of plastics in the Mandi area ofsector15,Chandigarh.
The Principal of DAV MODEL SCHOOL SECTOR 15CHANDIGARH highlighted the need for controlling pollution caused by the use of plastics. NSS volunteers distributed self made paper bags to the vendors.Slogans like "Go Green, Plastic is Obscene!", "Don't be drastic; Say “NO” to plastic " , " Plastic hatao,Bimari Bhagao"" were raised by the volunteers of the school to create awareness among masses about plastic hazards . Hawan ceremony was organised to invoke blessings of Almighty to make environment pure and pollution free.

Environment revolution begins with green motherland. As guardians of Nature, the Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma, staff members and students made earnest endeavours to create Green Earth .The Chief Guest ,Sh.Debendra Dalai,IFS,Chd Administration applauded the commendable efforts of students. The Guest of honour, Sh.R.C.Jeewan motivated the students to work hard and scale great heights.
A book on medicinal plants and their importance was inaugurated by the Chief Guest . Aves Corner _ A Gharonda was made comprising bird feeders and water stations made by all the students from Class Pre Nursery to 12.Even the supporting staff propagated eco friendly environment by making hanging pots and decorated bottles with worli at.
A seed dispensary of the school exhibited a varied range of seeds collected by the students as Green Warriors.Another eco-friendly gesture was showcased in “Best Out of waste corner” where used cloth was redesigned into making tray covers, cloth bags and mobile covers.
Prayas ,an entrepreneurial programme conducted as a regular annual feature also gave a peep into a venture promoting making of herbal soaps and chocolates .Tree plantation was done by the Chief Guest and all present. Mementos were given in the end .The school vicinity vibrantly rejoiced in its commendable journey to “Go Green.”



Raksha Bandhan celebrations

NSS unit of school organised special programme on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.The principal Ms.Anuja Sharma congratulated all present and extended her greetings on this auspicious occasion by tying rakhis on the wrists of office staff and supporting staff members of the school along with NSS volunteers.A cultural program was organised in which NSS volunteers recited poems and sang songs . Sweets were distributed to all present to celebrate the festival of love,affection and trust.

Independence Day Celebrations

The 75th Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm virtually by the students and offline by teachers of DAV-15 and DPSE (NTT). The program began with the unfurling of the “Tiranga “ by the honourable Principal ,Mrs Anuja Sharma followed with the rendition of our National Anthem by all present.
It was a spectacular view created by the release of balloons in the sky depicting different hues of orange, green and white enmating peace, prosperity and purity.The NCC and Girl Guide volunteers enthralled everyone with a wonderful and well coordinated welcome.
The students of classes Pre Nursery to class 12 exhibited the national spirit with their ever inspiring patriotic songs, speeches and dances to mark the sanctity of the day. The students of NTT presented a well choreographed musical-dance performance portraying the power of Indians to bridge the communal and social differences .The event in the school , organised by the staff members under the able guidance of their Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma exhibited a wide gamut of various activities like speeches,national patriotic songs dances.It ended with a vote of thanks by the Principal who congratulated everyone for the success of the event .The event ended on a sweet and a happy note with distribution of sweets .

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

An Annual feature ,International Yoga Day was celebrated online through the medium of Google Meet by the Principal, staff ,students ,NSS volunteers ,NCC Cadets and Girl Guide Scouts of DAV MODEL SCHOOL, SECTOR 15A CHANDIGARH with lot of zeal and enthusiasm .
The programme started with a welcome note by the Principal,Mrs Anuja Sharma . She highlighted the importance of yoga in life having a great impact on our heart, soul and mind.She pointed the need to do yoga everyday for a healthy and nurtured life.
The teachers and students under the guidance of Physical Education Teachers, Mrs Vikram,Mrs Harjeet , Mr Rajneesh and Yoga Instructor of the school performed various yoga aasans like trikonasan, bhujangaasan, tadaasan with energetic vigour. A yoga camp was also organised for Classes 5 to 12 . Students and teachers shared PPTS of their yoga aasans and all of them did pranayam and undertook a pledge to do yoga regularly. All.rhe aasans were also performed and their benefits were discussed.
NSS Volunteers celebrated Yoga as theme based "Yoga at home, Yoga with Family ".They made videos of doing different aasans with their family members, made posters, badges and gave speeches on the importance of yoga in life.
All clad in white and black chanted "OM" and breathed in peace and tranquillity. The event ended on a positive and refreshing note.

LABOUR DAY

Labour Day was commemorated virtually by the teachers and students of DAV Model School , Sector 15 A, Chandigarh to offer thanksgiving to the supporting staff for their support and contribution in the school. Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma appreciated their whole hearted efforts and motivated them to continue their services with honesty and integrity. She highlighted the importance of persistent endeavours in the overall success of any task undertaken.
A virtual assembly was conducted by students of 12 Arts and NSS volunteers. National Science Day
National Science Day was organized in the portals of DAV-15, Chandigarh to commemorate Raman Effect by Nobel Prize Recipient, C V Raman. Principal Mrs Anuja Sharma congratulated the teachers of Science Literacy Team for their wholehearted efforts and motivated them to step forward to be pro-active in scientific field.
The celebrations stated with Paryavaran Shudhi Havan with melodious chants of Vedic Mantras to purify the environment, and vicinity of the school with pure and pious vibes . The ceremonial lamp lighting was followed by a plethora of scientific activities. Teachers showcased the importance of science in daily life. .They also presented amazing facts of science, Biography of C V Raman and study of reflection and scattering of light in accordance to Raman effect as is exhibited in formation of rainbows. Live demonstration of science models marked the day.
Eco club of the school presented a mesmerising journey of scientific activities held throughout the year to take care of environment.The main attraction of the event was Census of School Flora by Eco Club which was a great eye-opener of variety plants growing in the school and their medicinal value.A Quiz was also organised for the staff members which was participated with a lot of enthusiastic zeal.A Weekly Planner about developing immune system was given to all present.

REPUBLIC DAY

Republic Day was commemorated in the portals of D.A.V. Model School, Sector-15A, Chandigarh with lot of Nationalist and Patriotic fervour. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated all present on this auspicious day and motivated them to enthuse the spirit of unity and harmony among themselves for promoting universal brotherhood.

A healthy lifestyle:need of the hour
Fit India School Week as directed by CBSE was virtually observed by the teachers, parents and students of DAV Model School, Sector 15 Chandigarh with an aim to promote holistic growth and development during pandemic.
The Principal,Mrs Anuja Sharma highlighted the importance of health and fitness in life.She motivated all the students and teachers to inculcate physical activities and sports in their everyday lives so as to remain active,confident and balanced personas in the present crucial pandemic days.
A plethora of sports activities were organised virtually to alter "Passive Screen Time" to "Active Field Time."The fitness week started with virtual assembly honing physical fitness among students .The students enthusiastically participated in a melange of physical exercises like aerobics,rope skipping,zigzag running.This was followed by debate,lecture on fitness.
A symposium on “ Re- strengthening of mind post pandemic was also conducted .
This excellent activity rejuvenated the learner’s to make a balance in their life snd strengthened them to remain fit in the face of the pandemic.This was followed by open mic virtual activity on ‘Exercise is a celebration of what your body can do, not a punishment what you ate’ .
A variety of brain games were conducted by the teachers and students virtually.
Students made colourful posters exhibiting the value of sports and fitness.An online quiz was also held that trickled the students reasoning and general awareness about sports.
Excellent specimens of creativity could be seen in advertisements made by students virtually on the theme," Hum Fit, toh India Fit".
Virtual sports challenges were also undertaken like squat , step up,spot jogging,rope skipping and ball dribbling challenges .A fitness ladder was also made and family fitness was taken up as an important prerogative.
These excellent activities motivated the learner’s to remain fit and healthy during the crucial challenging times of Covid Pandemic.
They enhanced physical and mental well being of the students as it's rightly said ,"A healthy mind stays in healthy body".
So when you make fitness your priority , you are only setting up yourself for greatness.

On the occassion of World Aids day, NSS UNIT of DAV Model School Sector 15 A Chandigarh today virtually organised activities on various themes related to the day.
Honourable Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma educated all present about the disease and its causes .She appreciated the efforts of NSS volunteers for spreading awareness in the society.

Diwali Celebration-2020
Diwali, the festival of lights was celebrated virtually with lot of gaiety and fervour in DAV-15. The celebrations started with recitation on OM creating sanctity of the festival. Students presented a spectacular show comprising a medley of activities virtually symbolising the festival of lights. Various skits, dances and songs exhibited festive fervour .Children were beautifully attired in colourful dresses personifying mythological Gods .
Honourable Principal Anuja Sharma blessed the students virtually amidst the melodious echoing chants of “Jai Shri Ram”. She blessed the students on this pious festival and motivated them to eat well, maintain safety measures and enjoy green and safe Diwali to ensure healthy environment.
NSS volunteers and students took a pledge virtually along with principal and teachers to promote green Diwali with the help of banners displaying harmful effects of crackers and poisonous chemicals emitted from the crackers.
Various competitions were also organized virtually and students enthusiastically participated in different creative activities like colourful rangoli, toran making, candle decoration , wall hanging and decoration of divas to showcase the gaiety and enthusiasm associated with the festivities.
Various games were organised for teachers and support staff , like chhati game,Matki balance,thread and needle game,garland making and various games to mark the fervour of festivals of lights.

Dussehra, a pious festival of Hindus was celebrated with lot of zeal and festive spirit virtually by the Principal, teachers and students of DAV15. Honourable Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma congratulated all present and highlighted the need to curb the roots of evil at all levels in order to dispel darkness and illuminate the path of life. A melange of activities—speeches, songs and dances showcased the festive enthusiasm of students from classes Nursery to 12th.A musical depiction of Lord Ramas life and His victory over Ravana was presented with meticulous details by students of DPSE (NTT). Students showcased ten evils rampant in present social setup through different placards, emphasising the need to eradicate them for better and harmonious living. The virtual celebrations echoed with rejoicing spirit of festivity culminating with a festive spirit to dispel evils. The virtual celebrations by students of school rejuvenated with enthusiastic fervour and happiness all around.

Teachers Day at DAV-15 is always a very special event and our students make their teachers feel wonderful on this day. Early in the morning, the students from Classes Pre Nursery to Class 12 and DPSE Department welcomed the teachers with PPTs, enthusiastic messages, smiles and loving hearts amidst loud claps and cheer. Staff felt like celebrities.
The students regaled the teachers in the virtual function with songs, speeches and dances commemorating the contribution of teachers.
The students and teachers congratulated their mentor, guide and torch bearer, Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma for being conferred the coveted Award for Principals by CBSE for promoting Academic excellence.The love of the students for their teachers was palpable in their cards, songs, speeches, lovely messages, greetings and smiles. The Principal, Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated everyone on this august occasion. She applauded her teammates for their endeavors to reach zeniths of success. An interschool event was conducted virtually by DAV Model School Sector 15 Chandigarh to hone the creative and critical potentialities of students from all the schools of Tricity.

Van Mahotsava week Celebrated

"Trees are beautiful in their peace, wise in their silence, will stand after we lie on dust, they teach us and we should take care of them."
With this motto in our minds, Van Mahotsava week was celebrated by the students and the teachers of DAV 15 from 13 to 18 July 2020 through the virtual arena. The aim of the event was to think green and live green by planting a sapling and hugging a tree .
The whole hearted initiative was taken to sensitize the students about various forms of flora and fauna. A plethora of activities were undertaken to spread the awareness about the benefits of nature and greenery.All the students from Classes Pre Nursery to Class 12 enthusiastically participated in a wide gamut of activities.
The students of Pre Nursery and KG did leaf painting and learnt about seed germination. Class 1 and 2 students dressed up in green coloured clothes to spread the message of green environment.
Class 3 ,4 and 5 children made green food items and enjoyed food prepared by them , They also made green Tiaras.The students from class 6 to 7 went for nature walk and collected some parts of the green plants to make beautiful green collage,Students from 8th and 9th painted a tree and asked for a wish It was a wonderful activity and enjoyed by all of them.
Class 11 and 12 students clicked few pictures of nature and made posters to save trees. They also hugged a tree.
A Pledge was taken by all the students and teachers on the virtual portal to plant a tree today and pass the legacy for the sustainable future by contributing towards the green and the clean environment.

Nikhar Pancham
Nikhar Pancham, a six-day summer camp of DAV Model School, Sector 15, Chandigarh, concluded on a high note, recently. A virtual camp, honing the creative and critical potentialities of students from class pre-nursery to XII was enjoyed by all the students with a lot of zeal. Principal Anuja Sharma congratulated all the staff members, students and supporting staff for the successful completion of the camp. She highlighted the importance of the virtual safety camp that gave an opportunity to all the students to learn safety measures during pandemic days. The students participated in making different safety products like masks, shoe covers and head covers, liquid soaps, organic soaps, immunity booster diet, protection kit and box. The special message that was conveyed through all these activities was of ‘Health and Wellness’. These activities helped the students to make safety products by involving in experiential learning, hands-on activities, thereby, giving impetus to their critical and creative acumen. It was an innovative approach to ensure efficient teaching of safety measures to be adopted during current crisis.
Art integration, experiential learning, subject integration, critical and creative skills, innovative ideas were all merged into one virtual camp. Students shared the images and videos exhibiting their skills involved in making the products. They also shared their experiences of the camp through poems and articles.
INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

An Annual feature ,International Yoga Day was celebrated online through the medium of Zoom App by the Principal, staff ,students ,NSS volunteers ,NCC Cadets and Girl Guide Scouts of DAV MODEL SCHOOL, SECTOR 15A CHANDIGARH with lot of zeal and enthusiasm .
The programme started with a welcome note by the Principal,Mrs Anuja Sharma . She highlighted the importance of yoga in life having a great impact on our heart, soul and mind.She pointed the need to do yoga everyday for a healthy and nurtured life.
The teachers and students performed various yoga aasans like trikonasan bhujangaasan, tadaasan with energetic vigour.Students and teachers shared PPTS of their yoga aasans and all of them did pranayam and undertook a pledge to do yoga regularly. A Book," based on yoga ," Yog Jeewan ka Aadhar "was released by Honourable Principal ,Mrs Anuja Sharma. Under the guidance of the Principal, the
Girl guides incharges,Mrs Sangeeta Gill and Mrs Manisha gave a brief history of international yoga day to create awareness among girl guides.Pledge was taken to practice yoga aasans everyday. All.rhe aasans were also performed and their benefits were discussed.
NSS Volunteers celebrated Yoga as theme based "Yoga with Family ".They made videos of doing different aasans with their family members, made posters,badges and gave speeches on the importance of yoga in life.
All clad in white and black chanted "OM" and breathed in peace and tranquillity. The event ended on a positive and refreshing note.

The students, staff and NSS VOLUNTEERS of DAV 15, celebrated ENVIRONMENT DAY by enthusiastically participating in various activities like poster making, slogan writting, speeches, reciting poems, singing songs AND took the pledge to protect the ENVIRONMENT, with special reference to epidemic situation arisen due to Covid 19.
Principal, Mrs. Anuja Sharma, advised the volunteers to take care of environment and ensured them safe healthy clean environment after reopening of the school.

International Book Day was celebrated in DAV MODEL SCHOOL SECTOR 15,CHANDIGARH by the Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma and all the staff members online.The Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma stressed on the need to read books as they are a constant source of inspiration, motivation, information and entertainment. All ths staff members also shared their experiences of reading and shared their views on the latest book they were reading during lockdown days.They all felt rejuvenated and vibrant in midst of present times by being immersed in the pearls of knowledge embedded in the books written by their favourite authors.

Nine minutes –symbolic gesture of solidarity
April 5, 2020 marked the symbolic gesture of solidarity by lighting diyas, candles &flashing mobile light to fight the pandemic with positivity. The citizens switched off electric lights at 9 pm on Sunday for 9 minutes standing at the doors & balconies. The nation jointly marked to dispel the darkness spread by the pandemic corona virus & all united to pray for those affected. Let’s continuously strive to take those fellow men & women from disappointment to hope.
DAV 15’s Management, Principal, Staff & Students joined the solidarity by illumination of the diyas, candles & flashing the mobile lights .A map of India was made with rangoli . Diyas were placed at the outline of the map symbolic of fight against coronavirus . An effort to defeat the deep darkness of the crisis by spreading the glory of light across the nation. The chanting of ‘Om’ & gayatri manta strengthened the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

SHOBHA YATRA
In continuation with celebrations of 196th birth anniversary of Swami Dayanand under the aegis of Kendriya Arya Sabha (Chandigarh, Panchkula, Mohali Zone) Shobha Yatra was organised in which the staff and students of DAV Model School, Sector 15-A, Chandigarh participated with lot of zeal and vigour. Principal Anuja Sharma felt elated to see the enthusiastic and religious fervour of all the participants of Shobha Yatra.
The students of Classes 6 and 7 presented a spectacular view based on the theme of SATYARTH PRAKASH: EK JEEVAN DARSHAN:- philosophy of life as brought by the ideals advocated by SWAMI DAYANAND JI . The tableaux showcased various aspects of education honing physical , mental and spiritual revolution and growth with amalgamation of religious rituals and vedas of yagya as per Arya Samaj Tradition.
The children exhibited the pious sanctity of Yagya, yoga , empowerment of women in the society bringing in serenity, peace and contentment for all living organisms. The yatra echoed with the chants of vibrant vedic mantras. Children attired as Swami Dayanand , highlighted the importance of Arya Samaj principles.

BASANT PANCHAMI

Basant Panchami was celebrated with a lot of gaiety and fervour in DAV Model School, Sector-15, Chandigarh. A special morning assembly was conducted with a plethora of activities like articles, speeches and poetry highlighting the importance of worship of Goddess Saraswati, an epitome of knowledge and wisdom. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated all on this occasion and blessed the students to be bestowed with infinite storehouse of knowledge as an incarnation of Goddess Saraswati..
Children enthusiastically participated in kite flying. The sky presented a spectacular view with different hues and shapes of kites . Children brought healthy yellow tiffins. Children danced and enjoyed the joyous spirit of the day.

REPUBLIC DAY

Republic Day was commemorated in the portals of D.A.V. Model School, Sector-15A, Chandigarh with lot of Nationalist and Patriotic fervour.
Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated all present on this auspicious day and motivated them to enthuse the spirit of unity and harmony among themselves for promoting universal brotherhood.The event started with hoisting of the flag followed by the rendition of our National Anthem. It was a spectacular view created by the release of balloons in the sky depicting different hues of orange, green and white exhibiting peace, prosperity and purity. The NCC cadets,NSS Volunteers and Girl Guides enthralled everyone with a wonderful and well co-ordinated march past.
A melange of activities were organised by the students. AASHIRWAD-Farewell 2020
The school today bid adieu to the students of twelfth class. Most of them were in school since class nursery. It was a nostalgic moment for teachers and students to part with each other. Innumerable dances on the popular numbers were presented by the students of eleventh class. The dances were very eye catching and enjoyed by the spectators. Melodious songs were sung by the students of eleventh class.
The entire venue echoed with serene and melodious songs. Himachali dance based on nati formation was mesmerizing. Many students narrated their pleasant experiences of stay in school. The principal of the school Mrs.Anuja Sharma, distributed photographs as reminiscences to the outgoing children as mementos on behalf of school. She also whole heartedly blessed them for a beautiful life ahead. Star achievers who excelled in the field of academics, sports, music , etiquettes and students council members were awarded.

Sports Day
‘A sound mind lives in a sound body’. With the aim to promote physical, mental and spiritual well being of the students, DAV Model School, Sector- 15 A, Chandigarh once again continued in its earnest endeavours in the Annual Sports Day-2019. Students from classes Pre-Nur to VII participated in different races with lot of vigour and enthusiasm.
The event started with release of colourful balloons in the sky presenting a spectacular view by the Chief Guest, Ms.Anjali Chabbra Deputy Director, Centre of Excellence CBSE, Guest Of Honour Mrs Jaskiran Harika, Principal, DAV Public School ,Sector 8, Chandigarh and Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma , DAV Model School Sector 15 A , Chandigarh .
Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated the staff & students for their persistent efforts & dedication. She motivated them to continue in their march towards excellence.
As per the DAV tradition, there was a pious rendition of DAV Gaan followed by the event.
Students of classes Pre-Nursery to Class 7, attired in red santa Caps participated in different races like toy in the basket, Jelly Fish race , getting ready for school, sack race, lemon & spoon race, three legged race, crocodile race, under the chair, needle and thread race were organised for the students. Students also showcased the PT drill and Tipri with lot of coordination and symmetry
Yoga and Aerobics also mesmerised everyone. The winners were awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes with certificates & mementos. The event ended with singing of National Anthem.

Annual prize distribution was held in the portals of DAV -15 to honour the star achievers of academic session 2018-19 from classes 3 to 12 in the field of academics, sports and co-curricular activities.
Mrs. Alka Mehta , DEO Chandigarh Administration presided over the function as the Chief Guest. She blessed the students for their meritorious achievements.
Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated the students and motivated them to continue their march towards success with persistent hardwork and diligent efforts.

SWACHHTA PAKHWADA
Swachhta Pakhwada was conducted from 1st to 15th December 2019 by NCC Cadets of DAV Model School ,Sector 15 A, chandigarh in the portals of the school. The cadets enthusiastically participated in a melange of cleanliness activities .
Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma motivated the cadets to actively participate in the swatchta activities for the overall maintenance of the eco system.
Cleanliness drive and mass awareness rally was conducted to highlight the importance of clean environment.
Nukkad Natak was conducted exhibiting the need for segregation of the waste. Plogging and Sharamdaan activity was organised with mass participation of cadets where in they picked up the litter in the vicinity of Sector 15, Chandigarh.
Jagrukta Abhiyaan was carried out by organising talks, lectures and seminars in near by village.

Constitution Day was observed by NSS unit in DAV-15 on Tuesday 26th Nov.2019. The NSS volunteers apprised students of the school about salient features of constitution. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma highlighted the need to safeguard and respect the fundamental rights and duties to ensure peace and universal brotherhood.
A melange of speeches, poems and articles related to constitution were organised. Children enthusiastically participated in the quiz based on information about constitution. The pledge was read out by the students promising an ideal nation.

Children Day Celebration
Childrens Day was celebrated in the portals of DAV 15 Chandigarh,with lot of enthusiasm and gaiety to bring sunshine and laughter among students.
Principal Mrs Anuja Sharma blessed the children with her affectionate blessings and highlighted their integral importance in the school and the social set up. She added that these young saplings blossomed into wonderful flowers under the able guidance of their elders.
It was a power-packed day with a plethora of fun filled activities for students of all classes.The school vibrated and buzzed with laughter and cheer. The day started with pious chanting of Gayatri Mantra followed by cultural programme by students .Students from all classes showcased their talents in a medley of activities –songs, dances and speeches .

Commemorating Centenary celebrations of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre DAV MODEL SCHOOL SECTOR 15 A Chandigarh organised Shradhanjali, Annual function, a tribute to martyrs who sacrificed their life for freedom movement.
The event showcased the rich cultured heritage of Punjab and the tragedy of Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar, exhibiting vitality and exuberance of students. The children captivated the audience with Bhangra, patriotic songs and play based on Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.
The chief guest Mr. B.L.Sharma, Education Secretary and Guest of honour Mrs. Vibhu Raj, IGP Punjab were mesmerised by their performance.
Chairman Shri. R.C.Jeewan and Manager Mrs. Madhu Bahl congratulated the staff and the students for their wonderful performance.

Diwali Celebration-2019
Diwali, the festival of lights was celebrated with lot of gaiety and fervour in DAV-15 with joint collaboration of Commerce Department, NSS and Home Science Department. The celebrations started with recitation on OM creating sanctity of the festival. Students presented a spectacular show comprising a medley of activities on the stage symbolising the festival of lights. Various skits, dances and songs exhibited festive fervour .Children were beautifully attired in colourful dresses personifying mythological Gods .
Honourable Principal Anuja Sharma blessed the students amidst the melodious echoing chants of “Jai Shri Ram”. She blessed the students on this pious festival and motivated them to eat well, maintain safety measures and enjoy green and safe Diwali to ensure healthy environment.
NSS volunteers and students took a pledge along with principal and teachers to promote green Diwali. NSS volunteers organized a rally to spread awareness about green and safe Diwali with the help of banners displaying harmful effects of crackers and poisonous chemicals emitted from the crackers.
Various competitions were also organized and students enthusiastically participated in different creative activities like colourful rangoli, toran making, candle decoration , wall hanging and decoration of divas to showcase the gaiety and enthusiasm associated with the festival. All these items were spectacularly arranged by the students .Soaps ,Candles , Diyas and Eatables were sold by the Commerce department ,Home Science Department along with NSS Volunteers of the school to mark the fervour of festivals of lights.

Blood Donation Camp
`Share a little, Care a little, Donate Blood’
As an earnest endeavour to serve humanity and illuminate the life in peril, DAV-15 Chandigarh organised a Blood Donation Camp as a tribute to Martyrs on Jallianwala sacrifice centenary year 2019 on Oct 05 2019 from 9:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the school premises. The camp was undertaken under the aegis of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha, Chandigarh with the joint collaboration of Rotary Club, City Beautiful.
Hon’ble Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma and her team had been working fervently to make this mega event a success. As a motivating leader, she ignited the spirit among her staff and students to put in their whole-hearted endeavours for this humanitarian task.ON this auspicious day DAV-15 also launched “Natural Organic” hand made soap under the agies of “PRAYAAS” a vocational project of budding entrepreneurs by the commerce department of the school.Many NSS Volunteers, Alumni members, Rotarians, General public from the vicinity of sector-15, Staff Members, Students and their parents joined hands together to support this noble cause.
A team of doctors from GMCH, Sector-32, Chandigarh Dr. Ravneet Kaur Bedi, Dr . Tanvi, Dr.Ranjeeta, Dr. Harman, Dr. Daya, Dr. Apalak, Dr. Pinjari, Dr. Siddharth, Dr. Tanshum and Dr. Yamni conducted the camp and ensured the safety of donors.
Various dignitaries – Ms. Nilambari Jagdale, SSP Chandigarh , Chairman Sh. R.C Jeewan, all Honourable LMC Members of the school, Arya Samaj members and Rotarians visited the venue to bless the donors.Adequate supply of bananas, healthy foods and milk bottles were offered as refreshment to the Donors. They were also awarded with a certificate and a memento as a token of appreciation for their kind gesture.
Total 500 participants registered and 217 units of blood were collected by volunteers who enthusiastically participated and came forward to manage the event and support society for their life saving gift of blood.

GANDHI JAYANTI

Grand Parents Day

Grandparents Day was organised in the portals of DAV Model School, SECTOR 15 A, Chandigarh with lot of zeal and fervour. Grandparents of students of classes Pre Nursery to class 2 attended the event .The event was graced by the Chief Guest , Shri R.C Jeewan Chairman of the school. He blessed the gathering and motivated the children to respect their grandparents whole heartedly.
Principal, Anuja Sharma welcomed the grandparents and thanked them from the core of her heart to make this event a grand success.She shared her gratitude to the grandparents for being the great support system to their grandchildren and providing them the roots of beliefs, values and their valuable assistance at every step of their life.
The event started with a pious beginning by chanting of Hymns and performing yaga seeking the blessings of Almighty. Children expressed their gratitude by participating in various cultural events exhibitingtheir love for their grand parents
A medical camp was organised by team of doctors from Fortis Hospital and Chetanaya Hospital who did the medical check-up of Grand parents, teachers, students and supporting staff of the school.
The renowned specialistsin Orthopaedics, Skin problems, and dieticians solved the queries of related issues.
The event ended on a Positive note.

NSS CAMP
7 days NSS camp was inaugurated in the portals of DAV-15 by Mr. Vijay Kumar, Retired Principal and Mrs.Anuja Sharma , Principal of the school. This camp will proceed from 23rd Sept 2019 to 29th Sept ,2019 highlighting the theme of Health Public Sanitation and Personal Hygiene. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma motivated the students to involve with whole hearted efforts to accomplish various eco friendly activities.
During this camp, NSS volunteers would be engaged in various activities like lectures, rallies, exercises etc. to spread awareness about the importance of health and hygiene in our life. A special training on Self Defence and Personal Hygiene will be given to them daily.
Special environment protection activities will be undertaken.
The volunteers made paper bags to be used for shopping and many more purpose to promote 'PLASTIC FREE INDIA' .

SWACHTA PAKHWARA
Swachta Pakhwara was organised in the portals of DAV MODEL SCHOOL SECTOR 15 A ,CHD by NSS and NCC Volunteers to spread awareness about environmental issues , especially the hazardous effects of use of plastics. Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma highlighted the need to save environment and avoid use of plastics .
A plethora of activities were undertaken for all the students. Tiny tots were engaged in handwashing activity by NSS Volunteers.
An essay writing competition was conducted in 11th and 12 th classes .A documentary was also shown on problems due to use of plastics. NSS and NCC Volunteers took a pledge not to use plastics and a signature campaign was also taken up to create awareness about environmental issues.

Teachers Day
Teachers Day at DAV-15 is always a very special event and our students make us feel wonderful on this day. Early in the morning, the students welcomed the teachers with enthusiastic smiles and loving hearts amidst loud claps and cheer. Staff felt like celebrities. The students regaled the teachers in the morning assembly with songs, speeches and dances commemorating the contribution of teachers.
Their love for their teachers was palpable in their cards, greetings and smiles. The Principal, Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated everyone on this august occasion. She applauded her teammates for their endeavors to reach zeniths of success.
Later in the afternoon the teachers were awarded certificates and mementos by the honorable Principal for their commendable contribution in the overall development of school followed by sumptuous lunch and vibrant games. The day ended with a happy note.

JANAMASHTMI CELEBRATIONS

The pious festival of Janamashtami was celebrated with lot of enthusiastic fervour and religious sanctity in the portals of DAV15. The Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma was elated to see the vibrant tiny tots dressed up in colourful attires impersonating Lord Krishna ,Radha and Gopis. She congratulated all and blessed them for their arduous devotion to keep the festive spirit alive.
The students of PRE-PRIMARY Classes were enlightened by the students of DPSE about the life history of Lord Krishnas childhood .Teachers had wonderfully displayed the life story of Lord Krishna in a colourful tableaux which was a colourful feast to the tiny tots and fascinated them.
An exchange programme was organised with the students of Learning Hubs School from Dhanas .They all were wonderfully attired in diferent fancy dresses and the school authorities applauded their devotion to Lord Krishna .They were given refreshment for their splendid performance .
A plethora of activities were conducted by the students . Sanskrit shlokas ,impersonation of Lord Krishna as a mentor , Raslila , poetry recitation and dances associated with the festive celebration were the main attraction of the event .

Independence Day Celebrations

The Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm by the NCC, NSS, Bharat Scouts and Guides students and teachers of DAV-15. The program began with the unfurling of the “Tiranga” by the honourable Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma.
The hoisting of the flag was followed with the rendition of our National Anthem by all present. It was a spectacular view created by the release of balloons in the sky depicting different hues of orange, green and white signifying peace, prosperity and purity. The NCC, NSS and Bharat Scouts and Guides volunteers enthralled everyone with a wonderful and well-coordinated parade.
The students exhibited the national spirit with their ever inspiring patriotic songs, speeches and dances to mark the sanctity of the day. The students presented a skit portraying the power of Indians to bridge the communal and social differences thereby creating great and united India.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by the Principal who congratulated everyone for the success of the event and to everyone’s delight sweets were distributed in the end.

"The Ripples” an Inter School Fest was organised on 03-08-2019 in the portals of DAV-15 in order to hone the creative potentialities of the students. The Chief guest of the fest was honourable Mrs. Nazuk Kumar, SDM Central and the guest of honour was Sh. R.C. Jeevan , Chairman of the school. 400 participants from 40 schools of tricity and Ambala participated with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm.
The function started with inaugural ceremony by Mrs Nazuk Kumar, SDM Central and Shri R.C Jeewan, Chairman of the school. The Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated the participants and motivated them to excel for achieving holistic development.
The winners were awarded certificates and trophies for their commendable performance by the school Manager Mrs. Madhu Bahl who motivated them to always rise and shine with their consistent and diligent efforts.

Save The trees, save the earth, we are the true guardians of Natures “birth”
VAN MAHOTSAVA CELEBRATIONS
Van-Mahotsava was celebrated with lot of vibrancy and enthusiasm in the vicinity of DAV 15 by the students of classes Nursery to 12th along with NSS Volunteers. Principal Mrs.Anuja Sharma motivated all present to be eco-friendly, plant more trees and save the environment.
A plethora of activities were organised for students. Classes Pre –Nursery to 2 participated in Fancy Dress Competition. It was a spectacular panorama exhibited by students dressed in different hues of green celebrating importance of trees.
Green tiffin competition was the main attractive bonanza enjoyed by the students of classes Pre –Nursery to Class 6. Poetry recitation and slogan writing on ‘TREES –GREEN LUNGS’ and “ TREES OUR LIFELINE “ was conducted for students of classes 3 to 7 along with the painting competition in class 8 on the theme of Forests, “The color of life”. Students of class 9 wrote paragraph on “ VAN HAMARI SAMPADA” and class 10 students made trees census and wrote their names.
NSS Volunteers performed a skit conveying the message to grow and protect trees.
In the end NSS volunteers took a pledge to make “vertical garden” by reusing the plastic bottles. The event ended on a positive note.

World Population Day
World Population Day was observed in D.A.V. 15 by N.S.S. Unit, SLSA and Sociology students to spread awareness about growth of population and its hazardous effects in our society. Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma stressed the need to control population for overall development of the nation .She stressed that the need of the hour is to plant more trees , save water and natural resources to save mother earth from the devastating effects of global warming due to over population .
NSS volunteers apprised the students in their speeches about the disadvantages of increasing population. A nukkad natak was performed by N.S.S. Unit and Sociology students . The content of skit not only included the ill effects of over population but also highlighted the importance of controlling population for the economic growth and development of the nation..
The members of SLSA of the school exhibited a power point presentation about the need to curb world population. The event ended with the blessings and a motivating message by the Principal .

International Yoga Day

Tadasana, Bhujang asana, Bhadrasana , Ardhaustrasana, Padahastasana, Nadisodhana, Anulom vilom and Kapalbharti under the able guidance of Yoga instructor Mr. Manohar amidst the chanting of “OM” buzzed in the serene and ecstatic cool morning breeze in the vicinity of DAV Model School Sector 15 A Chandigarh .An annual feature ,”International Yoga Day “ was celebrated with lot of enthusiastic zeal by the Principal, teachers and students in the portals of the school . NSS volunteers apprised everyone with the importance of Yoga and conducted a quiz based on yoga.
Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma felt rejuvenated to see everyone participating with energetic vigour. She motivated them all to actively engage themselves in different yoga aasans to remain physically mentally and spiritually fit and healthy. Later all the participants were given light refreshment. The day ended on a positive and refreshing note.

Nikhaar Chaturth
Nikhar Chaturth a six day summer camp -Yearly annual feature , fourth of its kind was organized in portals of DAV Model school sector 15 Chandigarh, a step towards chiseling the students for the holistic development by involving them in a plethora of various scholastic and co-scholistic activities .
This fun and enriching camp involved tapping feet , dancing tunes and skillful hands of young creative minds of the school from Pre Nursery to Class 12 .It was inaugurated by the honorable principal , Mrs. Anuja Sharma along with her staff in a colourful , spectacular , panorama of balloons and glittering confetti . Children were awed by their favourite cartoon characters of Minions and Chota Bheem .
The camp started with prayers and exercises followed by yoga. The entire school vibrated with the echoes of fun packed activities like bollywood dance ,aerobics ,art and craft .
Experiential Activities were also taken up for classes 3 to 12 .English Literary Skills ,Hindi Literary Skills ,best out of waste, experiments of science,self defence activities were undertaken.Day 1 of the camp ended with enthusiastic fervour .

NATIONAL DENGUE DAY ON 16 May, 2019
The NSS Volunteers of the school observed National Dengue Day on 16th May, 2019. The students were made aware about the spread of Dengue and the preventive measures to avoid its breeding.
Principal Anuja Sharma stressed on the fact that healthy population leads to progressive nation. She highlighted that students can play a great role in spreading awareness regarding the vector borne diseases.
A melange of activities were conducted. Members of health department Chandigarh provided information regarding spread of dengue and discussed various causes and preventive measures of dengue. Pamplets were also distributed by health department to sensitize the students about spread of dengue.
All the students took the oath in the morning assembly and promised to be instrumental in keeping their environment clean and free of mosquitoes. Teachers and students apprised the students about the spread of disease and explained various myths pertaining to the disease of dengue .

Investiture Ceremony 2019 -2020
Investiture ceremony was held in the portals of DAV-15 Chandigarh to elect student council as the responsible leaders of the school for its efficient working. School Head Boy {Devansh } and Head Girl (Samriti} , Class representatives , Swachatta Ambassadors and Health Ambassadors from classes 1-12 Presidents and secretaries from different creative clubs, student council for hostel, house captains and vice captains, executive members of school council felt elated to receive the badges .
They were honoured by the school Principal Mrs Anuja Sharma with badges , Mementos and sashes . She motivated them to be role models and set an example before the others . A pledge was also undertaken to ensure honesty and integrity in duties assigned to them.
.A feeling of responsibility and service towards humanity was inculcated among the students .

May today's success be the beginning of tomorrow’s achievements
DAV MODEL SCHOOL SECTOR 15A CHANDIGARH organized a special function to applaud the achievements of class 12 Students. Shri H .R. Gandhar was the chief guest and Shri. R. C. Jeewan presided over the function and blessed the students. Principal, Mrs. Anuja Sharma and the dignitaries congratulated the students for commendable results.
Out of 220 Students who appeared in class 12 CBSE exam 19 meritorious students scored above 90%. It was a pleasure to award certificates and mementos to students. Principal, Mrs. Anuja Sharma motivated all the students to work persistently to achieve zenith of success.

EXPRESSIONS GALORE
DAV 15 organised Talent Hunt – “EXPRESSIONS GALORE” as a platform for the students from classes 3 to 11 to showcase their various creative potentialities. Principal Mrs Anuja Sharma highlighted the need to hone the creative skills of children for their overall development. She congratulated the students for their whole hearted efforts.
A medley of creative and literary activities were conducted. Students enthusiastically participated in light vocal music, painting on the theme “India of my dreams”, poster making on “Swatch Bharat Mission” and “Clean and Green India”, Declamation on topic “India of my dreams", Poetry Recitation, Just a minute, Painting, Mimicry and Dancing. The school vibrated with all these activities and there was cut throat competition. Students were awarded prizes and certificates for their commendable performance.

LABOUR DAY

Labour Day was commemorated in the portals of DAV Model School , Sector 15 A, Chandigarh to offer thanksgiving to the supporting staff for their support and contribution in the school.
Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma appreciated their whole hearted efforts and motivated them to continue their services with honesty and integrity. She highlighted the importance of persistent endeavours in the overall success of any task undertaken.
A Special assembly was conducted by NSS volunteers. They apprised the students about the importance of supporting staff in the overall functioning of school through the arena of skits, poems, speeches. An oath was also taken to highlighting the importance of hard work.
The event ended on a happy note with a light refreshment for the supporting staff.

OBSERVANCE OF WORLD MALARIA DAY ON 25 April, 2019

Arya Yuva Samaj of the School celebrated the commencement of new session 2019-2020 by organising 21 Kundiye Maha Yagya under the aegis of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha, Chandigarh .The pious hawan showcased the earnest and consistent endeavours of the school authorities for attaining academic and co-curricular excellence .
The Guests of honour were distinguished members of Istri Arya Samaj, Sector 16 D ,Chandigarh—Smt Sudesh Gandhar, Smt Usha Jeewan,Smt Sudesh Talwar, Smt Nayyar, Smt Sanyogita Mahajan, Smt Vinod Vermani, Smt Anu Vermani, Smt Amita They all blessed the students and motivated them to study hard.
Honourable Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated all for their enthusiastic participation. She seeked God’s blessings to be bestowed on the students to achieve and excel with their diligent and persistent efforts.

EARTH DAY
Earth Day was celebrated for two days in the portals of DAV-15 by NSS volunteers of the school. Principal, Mrs. Anuja Sharma motivated the children to take care of mother Earth . She alongwith the staff and students took a pledge in the morning assembly to take care of our Planet Earth.
A plethora of competitions were conducted in all the classes. Children participated with lot of zeal and enthusiasm in poster making, slogan writing, poetry recitation and essay writing. Students apprised everyone about the importance of Earth Day through the arena of Articles, Speeches and Poems in the morning assembly. Signature campaign was also undertaken to save earth.
A special yagya was conducted by the students of the school to pay obeisance to God for retaining the purity and sanctity of mother Earth. The event ended on a happy and positive note.

Graduation Day
Graduation Ceremony was held for Tiny Tots of DAV Model School, Sector-15 A, Chandigarh marking their promotion from pre-school to primary school in the school premises. The atmosphere was jubilant and charged with excitement, where little ones of class- K.G. clad in their magenta and beige graduation robes and caps received Proficiency Awards. The event showcased value based education through various activities, aiming for holistic development of the students. The Honourable Chief Guest, Mrs Vibhu Raj, IPS Officer of Punjab Cadre (IG Crime Punjab), Mrs. Garima Singh Naunihal Special Secretary Finance officer, and galaxy of intellectuals were mesmerised by the wonderful dance and musical performance of the kids. The chief guest congratulated the staff and students for their whole hearted endeavours. The Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma blessed the Tiny Tots to excel and achieve exceptional accolades in life.

SHOBHA YATRA
In continuation with celebrations of 195th birth anniversary of Swami Dayanand under the aegis of Kendriya Arya Sabha (Chandigarh, Panchkula, Mohali Zone) Shobha Yatra was organised in which the staff and students of DAV Model School, Sector 15-A, Chandigarh participated with lot of zeal and vigour. Principal Anuja Sharma felt elated to see the enthusiastic and religious fervour of all the participants of Shobha Yatra.
The students of Classes 6 and 7 presented a spectacular view based on the theme of REVOLUTIONARY TRAANSFORMATION as brought by the ideals advocated by SWAMI DAYANAND JI . The tableaux showcased various aspects of education honing physical , mental and spiritual revolution and growth with amalgamation of religious rituals and vedas of yagya as per Arya Samaj Tradition.
The children exhibited the pious sanctity of Yagya, yoga , empowerment of women in the society bringing in serenity, peace and contentment for all living organisms. The yatra echoed with the chants of vibrant vedic mantras. Children attired as Swami Dayanand , highlighted the importance of Arya Samaj principles.

DAV 15 PIOUS HAWAN —A SACRED PRELUDE TO EXAMS
An auspicious hawan ceremony was organized in the campus of DAV Model School, Sector 15 A, Chandigarh. As a divine amalgamation of melodious chants of vedic mantras , the principal and the staff members seeked blessings of Almighty for the students appearing in forthcoming 12th Board Exams. Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma blessed the students and motivated them to work consistently with their arduous efforts.
The Hawan was performed with abundant religious zeal and fervor. It was attended by the Principal, students and staff with lot of reverence. Students felt rejuvenated amidst religious ambience and resolved to do their best.

AASHIRWAD-Farewell 2019
The school today bid adieu to the students of twelfth class. Most of them were in school since class nursery. It was a nostalgic moment for teachers and students to part with each other. Innumerable dances on the popular numbers were presented by the students of eleventh class. The dances were very eye catching and enjoyed by the spectators. Melodious songs were sung by the students of eleventh class.
The entire venue echoed with serene and melodious songs. Himachali dance based on nati formation was mesmerizing. Many students narrated their pleasant experiences of stay in school. The principal of the school Mrs.Anuja Sharma, distributed photographs as reminiscences to the outgoing children as mementos on behalf of school. She also whole heartedly blessed them for a beautiful life ahead. Star achievers who excelled in the field of academics, sports, music , etiquettes and students council members were awarded.

Sports Day
‘A sound mind lives in a sound body’. With the aim to promote physical, mental and spiritual well being of the students, DAV Model School, Sector- 15 A, Chandigarh once again continued in its earnest endeavours in the Annual Sports Day-2019. Students from classes Pre-Nur to VII participated in different races with lot of vigour and enthusiasm.
The event started with ribbon cutting by the Chief Guest, Sh . Ravinder Talwar, Secretary ,DAVCMC , Guest Of Honour , Mrs Jaskiran Harika, Principal, DAV Public School ,Sector 8, Chandigarh and Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma , DAV Model School ,Sector 15 A , Chandigarh .It was followed by the release of colourful balloons in the sky presenting a spectacular view.
Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated the staff & students for their persistent efforts & dedication. She motivated them to continue in their march towards excellence.
As per the DAV tradition, there was a pious rendition of DAV Gaan followed by the oath-- taking by the participants to be honest and integrated in different races.
Students of classes 3 to 7, attired in colourful house uniforms of Red, Green, Blue and Yellow showcased the PT drill with lot of coordination and symmetry. Different races like toy in the basket, rabbit jump, ring in the arm, getting ready for school, sack race, lemon & spoon race, three legged race, crocodile race, jump over the partner, needle and thread race, chatti race were organised for the students.
Yoga and dance performances also mesmerised everyone. The winners were awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes with certificates & mementos. The event ended with singing of National Anthem.

Republic Day
Republic Day was commemorated in the portals of D.A.V. Model School, Sector-15A, Chandigarh with lot of Nationalist and Patriotic fervour. Shri Sanjay Tondon , State President of Bhartiya Janata Party from Chandigarh presided over the event as the chief guest. His motivating speech instilled patriotic spirit among students who are going to lead the nation in future.
Sh. R. C. Jeewan chairman of the school and Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated all present on this auspicious day and motivated them to enthuse the spirit of unity and harmony among themselves for promoting universal brotherhood.
The event started with hoisting of the flag followed by the rendition of our National Anthem. It was a spectacular view created by the release of balloons in the sky depicting different hues of orange, green and white exhibiting peace, prosperity and purity. The NCC cadets,NSS Volunteers and Girl Guides enthralled everyone with a wonderful and well co-ordinated march past.
A melange of activities were organised by the students. The school vibrated with the resonance of Slogans of Vande Matram, Patriotic songs, P.T exercises and colourful dances show casing the love and respect for our Nation.
The event ended with a vote of thanks and to everyone’s delight, sweets were distributed.

National Girl Child Day
“Save girl child for better future “With this aim, NSS wing of DAV Model School commemorated National Girl child Day to sensitize about gender equality. Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma, apprised the students about the importance of gender equality and motivated the students to respect and value girls as they play a pivotal role in society.
A plethora of activities – poems, articles, songs and speeches were conducted by NSS volunteers and badges with the adage “proud to be a girl” were given to the students and staff members. The event ended with oath ceremony and singing of the National Anthem. Turban tying of girl students was also done by the principal exhibiting the respect and empowerment of women in the social set-up

Lohri Celebrations
The beating drums, enthusiastic songs, foot tapping dances, bonfire, fun and frolic marked the Lohri celebrations in the portals of DAV -15, Chandigarh. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated everyone and highlighted the importance of Lohri and Makar Sakranti.
The celebrations started with prayers commemorating the pious festival. Children exhibited their enthusiasm by participating in a plethora of activities - speeches , songs and dances. Principal Mrs Anuja Sharma lit the bonfire amidst the chanting of vedic Prayers. The clichéd poetic recitation of “Sunder Munderiyae” added to the fervour of the celebrations. Mesmerising songs associated with lohri , echoed and vibrated with the thunderous clapping from children. The children and teachers apprised students about the importance of Lohri and religious sanctity of “Makar Sakranti”. This was followed by bhangra and the celebrations ended with happiness all around.

KRITYANJLI – ANNUAL EXHIBITION
Krityanjli, an annual exhibition was organised in the school premises on 29th December,2018. It was a peep into arduous efforts of creative minds, dexterous hands with amalgamation of core values.The chief guest Mrs. Aulakh (Principal Govt. College Mohali) applauded the artistic efforts of students. Dignitaries Sh. R.C. Jeevan, Chairman DAV Model School and the Principals of DAV schools of the tricity visited the exhibition.Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma highlighted the importance of conducting such exhibitions as they enhance empathy, self-discipline, self-esteem and chisel the hidden creative potentialities of students.
The event started with ceremonial lamp lighting followed by a spectacular view of colourful balloons flying in the air depicting varied hues of the artistic skills exhibited in the exhibition.The school premises were vibrant with a plethora of colourful charts, working models, personified personalities, musical show. Students explained their charts and models with a lot of enthusiasm and vigour.
The exhibition was in fact a glance of diligent efforts of both students and teachers, exhibiting potential of little hands, creative minds and artistic skills blended with values.

Children Day Celebration
Childrens day is a time for some splashing fun,cheers and jolly time for every child. With this motto to bring sunshine and laughter among our dear students,Childrens Day was celebrated in the portals of DAV 15 Chandigarh,with lot of enthusiasm and gaiety..Principal Mrs Anuja Sharma blessed the children with her affectionate blessings and highlighted their integral importance in the school and the social set up. She added that these young saplings blossomed into wonderful flowers under the able guidance of their elders.It was a power-packed day with a plethora of fun filled activities for students of all classes.The school vibrated and buzzed with laughter and cheer.
The day started with pious chanting of Gayatri Mantra and religious hymns sung by teachers followed by morning assembly meticulously conducted by students and teachers.Students from all classes showcased their talents in a medley of activities –songs, dances, speeches and skits. Teachers also exhibited their love for the children by participating in vibrant songs and dances. Stalls of eatables and games were put up by Commerce Department of the school. Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma distributed sweets among children. The day ended on a happy note.

Diwali Celebration-2018
Diwali, the festival of lights was celebrated with lot of gaiety and fervour in DAV-15 with joint collaboration of NSS, Kindness Club and Sampada Eco Club. The celebrations started with recitation on OM creating sancity of the festival. Students presented a spectacular show comprising of a medley of activities on the stage symbolising Ayodhya Nagri. Various skits, dances and songs highlighted Lord Ramas life .Children were beautifully attired in colourful dresses personifying mythological ,Gods and participated in fancy dress competition .
Honourable Principal Anuja Sharma blessed the students amidst the melodious echoing chants of “Jai Shri Ram”. She blessed the students on this pious festival and motivated them to eat well, maintain safety measures and enjoy green and safe Diwali to ensure healthy environment.
NSS volunteers and students took a pledge along with principal and teachers to promote green Diwali. NSS volunteers organized a rally to spread awareness about green and safe Diwali with the help of banners displaying harmful effects of crackers and poisonous chemicals emitted from the crackers.
Various competitions were also organized and students enthusiastically participated in different creative activities like colourful rangoli, toran making, candle decoration , wall hanging, garland making and decoration of divas to showcase the gaiety and enthusiasm associated with the festival. All these items were spectacularly arranged by the students. Diyas were sold by the Commerce department along with NSS Volunteers of the school to mark the fervous of our festivals of light.The function ended on a happy and festive note.

VIGILANCE WEEK
02-11-2018
DAV 15 observed vigilance week from 29 Oct, to 3 Nov 2018 . The students enthusiastically participated in a melange of activities to showcase the ill effects of corruption . Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma highlighted the need to curb corruption at the grass roots to ensure healthy and peaceful environment.
Children made posters and wrote slogans to illustrate the disadvantages of giving or taking bribe .Articles,poems and speeches were given by NSS volunteers and SLC Members of the school to apprise the students about the ways to eradicate corruption at all the levels of society. The children raised slogans to create awareness about the hazards of corruption.
The principal took an integrity pledge along with the students and teachers of the school to create awareness about good governance to make India prosperous, generating integrity and peace for all. A LINK was given to all the staff members and students to upload their pledge as good and responsible citizens to make India corruption free.

The State Legal Cell of D.A.V. Model School Sector15A, Chandigarh celebrated the National Unity Day on 31st November,2018 with great enthusiasm and joy. Principal Ms. Anuja Sharma motivated the students to live in peace and communal harmony for promoting universal brotherhood.
The event began in morning assembly where members of SLC enlightened the students with a plethora of activities- speeches, poems, and articles. They presented a skit exhibiting the importance of unity in diversity. The students also raised slogans, and made posters to highlight the concept of unity for eternal happiness .In the end , the principal ,Staff and the students took a pledge to promote peace and unity among all.
Birth Anniversary Of Sardar Vallabhai Patel

DAV 15 organised a special assembly to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel . The students , NSS Volunteers, NCC Cadets and Scouts and Guides enthusiastically participated in a melange of activities to highlight the importance of communal harmony .Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma expressed the need to promote universal brotherhood to ensure healthy and peaceful environment.
Children made posters and wrote slogans to illustrate the importance of unity and peace .They gave speeches and recited poetry to create awareness about the teachings of Sardar Vallabhai Patel.
The principal took an integrity pledge along with the students and teachers of the school to create awareness about good governance to make India prosperous, generating integrity and peace for all.

Bhajan Sandhaya
An auspicious evening on 30th Oct 2018- “Bhajan Sandhya” for third consecutive year under the aegis of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha was organized in the protals of DAV 15 chandigarh. As a divine amalgamation of values of Arya Samaj, melodious echoes of chants of Vedic Mantra’s, spreading happiness and contentment could be heard in the vicinity of the school.
The idea behind these celebrations has its strong foundation in age old traditions and values as laid down by Arya Samaj acknowledging and appreciating the contribution of Swami Dayananda for the upliftment of education, moral values, ideal behavior leading to overall holistic development. So the Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma, teachers and students of DAV-15 rejuvenated with the blessings of Arya Samaj resolved to create and evolve religious and pious ambience.
Dignitaries – Dr Sweta Singh(Joint Secretary COE), Shri H.R Gandhar, Shri R.C Jeevan, Shri S.R Prabhakar , Justice Bahri, Principal Mrs. Madhu Bahl, Smt Anu Chatrath,
LMC members, PTA Members, Alumni and Principals from Tricity visited the event. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma felt elated to organize this pious evening showcasing the ideals of Arya Samaj.
About 300 students from Classes 1 to XII participated in the Chanting of Bhajans. An online Essay Writing Competition was also organized in which students from DAV and Non Dav schools participated with lots of enthusiasm and the prize was awarded to deserving candidates. These essay’s were complied in the form of a book named BAL NIBANDH SANGRAHA by Honorable Professor Dr. Vikram Viveki.
“Today this evening seeked to be the light bearer of society by organizing bhajans achieving peace and universal brotherhood, that is by sharing, caring and doing our very best.”

Dussehra
Dussehra, a pious festival of Hindus was celebrated with lot of zeal and festive spirit in the portals of DAV15. Honourable Principal Mrs Anuja Sharma congratulated all present and highlighted the need to curb the roots of evil at all levels in order to dispel darkness and illuminate the path of life.
A melange of activities—speeches, songs and dances showcased the festive enthusiasm of students from classes Nursery to 12th.A musical depiction of Lord Ramas life and his victory over Ravana was presented with meticulous details .
Students showcased ten evils rampant in present social setup through different placards, emphasising the need to eradicate them for better and harmonious living.
The school echoed with rejoicing spirit of festivity. Students took pledge to save their environment and eradicate all the bad habits like anger, pride, ego, greed , avarice . Students wrote their bad habits on slips and threw them in a big havan kund.
The vicinity of school rejuvenated with enthusiastic fervour with celebrations and happiness all around.

Blood Donation Camp
`Share a little, Care a little, Donate Blood’
As an earnest endeavour to serve humanity and illuminate the life in peril, DAV-15 Chandigarh organised a Blood Donation Camp on Oct 06 2018 from 9:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the school premises. The camp was undertaken under the aegis of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha, Chandigarh with the joint collaboration of Rotary Club, City Beautiful.Hon’ble Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma and her team had been working fervently to make this mega event a success. As a motivating leader, she ignited the spirit among her staff and students to put in their whole-hearted endeavours for this humanitarian task.Many NSS Volunteers, Alumni members, Rotarians, General public from the vicinity of sector-15, Staff Members, Students and their parents joined hands together to support this noble cause.
A team of doctors from GMCH, Sector-32, Dr. Tanvi, Dr. Sirat, Dr.Ranjeeta, Dr.Apalak Chandigarh conducted the camp and ensured the safety of donors.Various dignitaries – Chairman Sh. R.C Jeewan, Shri Ravinder Talwar, Retd. Brig D.S Dhillon, Verinder K Garg , all Honourable LMC Members of the school and Rotarians visited the venue to bless the donors.Adequate supply of bananas, healthy foods and milk bottles were offered as refreshment to the Donors. They were also awarded with a certificate and a memento as a token of appreciation for their kind gesture.Kindness club of the school also contributed in the noble task by collecting edible donations for the needy and serve the humanity.
Total 305 participants registered and 209 units of blood were collected by volunteers who enthusiastically participated and came forward to manage the event and support society for their life saving gift of blood.

7 DAYS NSS CAMP
DATED:05/10/ 2018
DAV MODEL SCHOOL sec 15A chandigarh organised a special 7 days NSS camp from 5 October to 11 October ,2018 under theme of Health and Hygiene. The camp was inaugurated by principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma who motivated all the students to participate whole heartedly in different activities related to social awareness and upliftment of humanity. She highlighted to organised such camps to sensitized the students on various social issues.
During this camp, NSS volunteers would be engaged in various activities like lectures, rallies, exercises etc. to spread awareness about the importance of health and hygiene in our life. A special training on FIRST AID will be given to them daily so that they can help the needy persons at home, roads, school, etc.
Special environment protection activities will be undertaken including making of sapling bags from used milk packets. The NSS volunteers will be making cloth bags to be used for shopping and many more purposes from old chadars (bedsheets) etc. to promote 'PLASTIC FREE INDIA' . The volunteers will be painting the wall under the theme ' SWACHTA HI SEVA' near sector 15 Mandi area as an effort of NSS team of DAV15.

NSS DAY
NSS DAY was organized by NSS team of DAV MODEL School Sector 15 Chandigarh under the guidance of Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma .140 NSS Volunteers of the school along with Program Officers , Ms Rashmi Walia, Ms Jaishi and Mr Rajneesh enthusiastically participated in a plethora of activities based on Swachhta Hi Sewa (SHS)2018.
Principal Mrs Anuja Sharma congratulated all the volunteers for their whole hearted endeavours to keep the vicinity of the school clean .She motivated the students , teachers and the supporting staff to continue their earnest efforts as “healthy mind lives in healthy body surrounded by healthy and clean environment.”
NSS volunteers along with the members of Swachhta committee , Swachhta Ambassadors , Health committee and Cleanliness committee conducted cleanliness drive by cleaning the streets, drains and back alleys of the School . Awareness drive to change the behavior of all with respect to cleanliness and sanitation was organized and pamphlets were distributed to orient about cleanliness .Nukkad Natak Pledge, NSS Song,folk song and dance were also performed .A lecture was also given to spread awareness among teachers ,students and supporting staff .A video was also shown on use of “Twin Pit Making”. Teachers also participated in the cleanliness drive. Badges were given to NSS volunteers and best volunteers were awarded.

Grand Parents Day

Grandparents Day was organised in the portals of DAV Model School, SECTOR 15 A, Chandigarh with lot of zeal and fervour. Grandparents of students of classes Pre Nursery to class 2 attended the event .Principal, Anuja Sharma welcomed all the grandparents and thanked them all from the core of her heart to make this event a grand success. She shared her gratitude to the grandparents for being the great support system to their grandchildren and providing them the roots of beliefs, values and their valuable assistance at every step of their life.
The event started with a pious beginning by lamp lighting seeking the blessings of Almighty. Children expressed their gratitude by participating in various cultural events exhibiting their love for their grand parents. Cake cutting ceremony was the main attraction of the day.
A medical camp was organised by team of doctors from Fortis Hospital who did the medical check-up of Grand parents, teachers, students and supporting staff of the school.
The renowned specialists in Orthopaedics, Skin problems, and dieticians solved the queries of related issues. Doctor Avinash Gupta , Ayurveda specialist and Dental Surgeon, Doctor Navita Sood also attended the visitors.

JANAMASHTMI
The pious festival of Janamashtami was celebrated with lot of enthusiasm and religious sanctity in DAV15. The Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma was elated to see the vibrant tiny tots dressed up in colourful attires impersonating Lord Krishna ,Radha and Gopis.She congratulated all and blessed them for their arduous efforts to keep the festive spirit alive.
The students of PRE-PRIMARY Classes showcased the life history of Lord Krishnas childhood. Students displayed the life story of Lord Krishna in a colourful tableaux which was a colourful feast to all present.
Geeta saar, impersonation of lord krishna as a mentor, episodes of His life, raslila, dahi handi and fancy dress were the main attraction of this event.

RAKHI CELEBRATIONS
The auspicious occasion of rakhi was celebrated with a lot of festive zeal and fervour in the portals of DAV15 by the students of classes Nurseryto Xth , Peace Club and NSS VOLUNTEERS. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma felt delighted to see the enthusiastic students preparing colourful rakhis. She apprised the students about the importance of the sacred thread.
A special endeavour was done to celebrate rakhi with office staff and the supporting staff by the honourable Principal and NSS Volunteers. Principal Maam motivated all of them to work in unison to promote the overall functioning of the school. She appreciated their indispensable services in the school and motivated them to continue their efforts.
Tilak ceremony followed by rakhi tying and distribution of sweets were enjoyed by all present. Students presented a medley of activities – skits, poems, speeches, songs and dances to mark the occasion. Various competitions like tilak packing , making rakhi threads, rakhi messages for brothers ,gift packs ,thali decoration and poetry recitation were held and meritorious students were awarded prizes .The event ended on a happy note.

First Aid Training Programme
First Aid Training Programme under the guidelines of CBSE Health and Physical Education Programme was conducted for 5 days for the students of class 9th and the team of Bharat Scouts and Guides of DAV-15 chandigarh.
Mr. Sushil from Red Cross Society conducted the programme to create medical awareness among students and the need to harness First Aid Training. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma highlighted the importance of conducting such programmes to enlighten the young impressionable minds with medical training.
The students prepared first Aid kit with lot of enthusiasm and precision. They were taught 9 golden rules of first aid along with care to be taken at the time of internal and external bleeding, fracture, heart attacks and insect bites.
CPR practical was also under taken to show case the ways to save life of a person during heart attack.
The knowledge of the students was evaluated on the basis on the viva taken up by the doctor from PGI.

Independence Day Celebrations
The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm by the NCC, NSS, NTT, Bharat Scouts and Guides students and teachers of DAV-15. The program began with the unfurling of the “Tiranga” by the honourable Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma. She felt elated and congratulated them all on this proud moment. She motivated them to make arduous efforts in the direction of truth, integrity and honesty
The hoisting of the flag was followed with the rendition of our National Anthem by all present. It was a spectacular view created by the release of balloons in the sky depicting different hues of orange, green and white signifying peace, prosperity and purity. The NCC, NSS and Bharat Scouts and Guides volunteers enthralled everyone with a wonderful and well-coordinated parade.
The students exhibited the national spirit with their ever inspiring patriotic songs, speeches and poems to mark the sanctity of the day. The students of NSS presented a skit portraying the power of Indians to bridge the communal and social differences thereby creating great and united India.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by the Principal who congratulated everyone for the success of the event and to everyone’s delight sweets were distributed in the end.

TEEJ CELEBRATIONS
The auspicious festival of Teej was celebrated by, DPSE students as a part of N.T.T curriculum . Students of the school along with DPSE students and teachers enjoyed with lot of enthusiastic vigour and zeal in the portals of DAV15, Chandigarh. Peals of Laughter, Colourful Bangles, Vibrant Mehandi, and sumptuous stalls amidst resounding musical notes filled the air with happiness.
Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma congratulated all present on this auspicious occasion and prayed to Almighty to bestow His blessings for eternal bliss and ecstasy. The staff and students felt delighted and had a fantabulous time.

“The Ripples” an Inter School Fest was organised on 04-08-2018 in the portals of DAV-15 in order to hone the creative potentialities of the students. The Chief guest of the fest was honourable Shri. Ravinder Talwar Secretary , DAVCMC, New Delhi and the guest of honour was Sh. R.C. Jevaan , Chairman of the school. 300 participants from 26schools of tricity and Ambala participated with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm.
The function started with inaugural ceremony by DEO Mrs Anujeet Kaur. The Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated the participants and motivated them to excel for holistic development. The winners were awarded certificates and trophies for their commendable performance. The event ended with a vote of Thanks by Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma.

Awareness Rally on prevention of Dengue and Malaria
Awareness rally was organised by NSS unit in the Portals of DAV-15 to apprise the students about the prevention of Malaria and Dengue. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma motivated the students to keep the surroundings clean for prevention of diseases. A Lecture was conducted by Mr. Gyan Chand and Mr. Balwinder Singh from Malaria unit of PU , sector 14 , chandigarh. They emphasised that we should not let water stagnant near our homes. The need of the hour is to cover the tanks, clean coolers once a week, use mosquito net and repellents.
NSS volunteers raised slogans “Machar ko bhagana hai desh ko swasth banana hae” in the vicinity of sector 15 , Chandigarh.

May today's success be the beginning of tomorrow achievements
DAV MODEL SCHOOL SECTOR 15 CHANDIGARH organized a special function to applaud the achievements of class 10 and 12 Students. Shri H .R. Gandhar was the chief guest and Shri. R. C. Jeewan presided over the function . Mr. S. R. Prabhakar, Manager of the school also blessed the students and Principal, Mrs. Anuja Sharma and the dignitaries congratulated the students for commendable results.
Out of 213 Students who appeared in class 12 CBSE exam 20 meritorious students scored above 90%. It was a pleasure to award certificate s and mementos to students Principal, Mrs. Anuja Sharma motivated all the students to work persistently to achieve zenith of success.

Save The trees, save the earth, we are the true guardians of Natures “birth”
VAN MAHOTSAVA CELEBRATION
The week long Van-Mahotsava celebrations culminated in a plethora of activities in the vicinity of DAV 15. The students of classes’ nursery to 12th along with NSS VOLUNTEERS enthusiastically participated. Principal Mrs.Anuja Sharma motivated all present to be eco-friendly, plant more trees and save the environment.
A Pious Van Vardhana yajya by students of class 6 was followed by nature walk by students of classes 4,5,6 in order to sensitise them to importance of trees.
Green tiffin competition was organised in classes 3, 4, 5. Poetry recitation on ‘VRIKSH’ was conducted for students of class 7 along with the painting competition on the theme of Forests, “The color of life”. Students of class 9 wrote paragraph on “Our Lifeline Tress” and class 10 students wrote slogans to save trees.
NSS VOLUNTEERS Performed a skit conveying the message to grow and protect trees.Professor Rajindar Sandhu was the chief guest for the VAN MAHOSTSAVA celebration by NSS volunteers. A tree plantation drive was conducted to spread the message to protect the environment . Mr. Jhingan gave tips to protect environment, reuse the milk cans and say No to plastics.
In the end NSS volunteers took a pledge to make “vertical garden” by reusing the plastic bottles. The event ended on a positive note.

Van VardhanYagya
The Van Mahotsava celebrations this year mark our unending endeavours to make the environment eco-friendly and green. A pious “Van VardhanYagya” was orgainsed by NSS, NCC , Peace club,Eco and Sampada club in the portals of DAV -15, Chd. to commemorate week long Van Mahotsava celebrations. The school echoed with the vibrant chants of vedic mantras by the children of vedic club .CBSE Deputy Director , Mrs Neha Sharma was present on this auspicious occasion. Her presence made this yagya a memorable one . Tree plantation drive was undertaken by her and she motivated the children to be the care takers of their mother earth by nurturing it with tree plantation. Floral tiaras were worn by all present . Honourable Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma. Congratulated all for their enthusiastic participation.

World Population Day
World Population Day was observed in D.A.V. 15 by N.S.S. unit to spread awareness about growth in population and its hazardous effects in our society. Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma stressed the need to control population for overall development of the nation.
NSS volunteers apprised the students in their speeches about the disadvantages of increasing population. A nukkad natak was performed by N.S.S. Unit. The content of skit not only included the ill effects of over population but also highlighted the importance of growing trees to help in breathing fresh air and maintaining eco system.
NCC Unit of the school conducted a lecture about the need to curb world population.

International Yoga

Tadasana, Bhujang asana, Bhadrasana , Ardhaustrasana, Padahastasana, Nadisodhana, Anulom vilom and Kapalbhati along with the chanting of “OM” buzzed in the serene and ecstatic cool morning breeze in the vicinity of DAV Model School Sector 15 A Chandigarh .An annual feature ,”International Yoga Day “ was celebrated with lot of enthusiastic zeal by the Principal, teachers and students in the portals of the school .
Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma felt rejuvenated to see everyone participating with energetic vigour. She motivated them all to actively engage themselves in different yoga aasans to remain physically mentally and spiritually fit and healthy. Later all the participants were given light refreshment. The day ended on a positive and refreshing note.

EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIP TO BABA BANDA SINGH BAHADUR WAR MEMORIAL - CHAPPAR CHIRI
The Class X students of DAV Model School 15-A Chandigarh went for an educational field trip organised under the aegis of British Council to visit the heritage site - Baba Banda Singh Bahadur War Memorial in Chappar Chiri
The students visited the museum and were informed about the history of Sikhs defeating the Mughal forces under the leadership of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. The students were apprised about the battle that was fought on the plains of Chappar Chiri on 12th May 1710. It was here that the Mughal forces were routed and for the first time in Indian History Khalsa Republic was established. The students felt enlightened after visiting the war memorial.

Concluding day of summer camp

Nikhaar Tritiya summer camp of DAV Model School Sector 15 , chd concluded with enthusiastic zeal and fervour. Children from Pre-Nursery to class 7 were rejuvenated to participate in fun filled activities. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma felt ecstatic to see the wonderful, spectacular craft items showcased by the children.
The concluding day started with regular prayer and yoga asans. Cookery skills of children were honed by their respective teachers and they learnt to make chana chaat canopies, aam pana, fruit custard, semolina cutlets, pizza, fruit cream and nacho salad.It was indeed a feast to the eyes to see such sumptuous dishes prepared by the children.
Students were awarded certificates for their whole hearted participation in the camp.
The main attraction was dance finale in which children delineated their various talents and euphoric foot tapping body movements. The school, vibrated with resonance of musical notes and happiness all around its vicinity.

Nikhar Tritiya – Day 5

Day 5 of Summer camp –Nikhar Tritya held at DAV Model School sector 15 Chandigarh was an innovative and enriching experience packed with educative, informative and fun loaded outdoor activities .Principal Mrs. Anuja sharma highlighted the need for such outdoor trips to enhance practical knowledge of children in this competitive world.
Children of class 10 visited chappar chiri Banda Singh Bahadur-tallest minar in India and gained knowledge about victorious war againt Mughals .
Sumptuous dishes were made by students of different classes to enhance their culinary skills.students from pre nursery made tang,Bhel puri. Healthy veggi Sandwiches were made by the students of Nursery.Class I Students made Orio Cake served in Cones. Students from classes 3, 4 and 5 made refereshing Jaljira to beat the heat along with chololate balls and Swiss Roll sandwiches.Pasta and paneer tikka were made by the students of 6 and 7. Infact the day turned out to be a great cooking bonanza

NIKHAAR TRITIYA DAY 4

Day 4 of summer camp, Nikhaar Tritiya at DAV MODEL SCHOOL,SECTOR 15 , Chd was a special bonanza for children. They were thrilled and fully enjoyed the steps they had learnt during the last four days; Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma motivated the children to participate whole heartedly in all the co-curricular activities for their holistic development. The day started with prayer and yoga. The main attraction was learning self defense techniques by the girls. Another feather in the cap was the cookery class with a mouth-watering menu of Water Melon juice for class I students and Vada Pao burger for class Kg students.
Students participated in bhangra, western dance and craft items with a lot of enthusiastic zeal. The attractive paper flowers and coasters made by the kids presented a colourful feast to be mesmerised. Selfie frames made by all the students of class 2 presented a spectacular sight. The foot tapping beats and vibrant music captivated the tiny tots in various dances. The day ended with a lot of fun and frolic

Day 3 of the summer camp ,Nikhaar Tritya held in DAV Model School , Sector 15 Chd was a wonderful and enriching experience for all the students. Principal Mrs Anuja Sharma felt awed by the innovative craft items and introductory sewing lessons to the students. She congratulated all for their whole hearted enthusiasm displayed in the activities .
The day started with prayers and yoga asans. enthusing children with lot of energy.
The echoes of bhangra beats , western foot tapping steps filled the vicinity of the school with vibrancy. The students made a step further in their sewing lessons by learning hemming, tacking and making button hole stitches. Children enjoyed various fun games.
The camp honed the creative potentialities of children by engaging them in making various craft items –, making of Plastic flowers. The day ended on informative and entertaining mode of learning.

Nikhaar Tritiya Day 2
Day 2 of summer camp , Tritiya Tritiya organised in DAV Model School , Sector 15 chd was another day full of fun-packed extravaganza. Children dressed in casuals had a fantabulous time. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma felt elated and mesmerised to see so many creative activities honing and chiselling the potentialities of students. The day started with prayer and learning of yoga asans- bhujangasan(cobra pose) and paschimottanasan(baby pose) to fill the children with exuberant energy.
The school resounded with beating drums and enthusiastic peals of laughter of the tiny tots. Students of classes pre Nursery to 2 tapped their feet to bolywood hip hop numbers, students from classes 3 to 5 learned dance based on the theme of environment and students from classes 6 to 7th enjoyed foot tapping moves on the theme of patriotism. Students of all classes indulged in fun filled games.
. Craft items made in art and craft class were no less than any skilful craftsmanship and artistic splendour. The day ended on a positive note amidst fun, frolic and ecstasy.

Nikhaar Tritiya Day 1
Nikhar Tritiya a six day summer camp -Yearly annual feature , third of its kind was organized in portals of DAV Model school sector 15 Chandigarh, a step towards chiseling the students for the holistic development by involving them in a plethora of various scholastic and co-scholistic activities .
This fun and enriching camp involved tapping feet , dancing tunes and skillful hands of 260 young creative minds of the school .It was inaugurated by the honorable principal , Mrs. Anuja Sharma along with her staff in a colourful , spectacular , panorama of balloons and glittering confetti . Children were awed by their favourite cartoon characters of Doremon and Bheem and a Micky Mouse Bouncy.
The camp started with prayers and exercises followed by yoga. The entire school vibrated with the echoes of fun packed activities like bollywood dance ,aerobics ,art and craft, making wall hangings with C Ds.Day 1 of the camp ended with enthusiastic fervour .

INTERACTIVE SESSION OF SLSA
Keeping with conspicious tradition of permeating knowledge SLC of DAV-15 Chandigarh held an interactive session on fundamental duties. Princiapl Ms Anuja Sharma applauded the efforts of SLSA Club for promoting legal awareness among the young impressionable minds
Agenda of seminar was pouring the distilled knowledge of functioning of state legal cell and ideals behind the integration of the country. Miss Anuja Sirohi of Tata institute of social science intern with SLSA conversed very well with students of class twelth. She galvanized Fundamental Duties,aims and objectives of SLSA. Mr Bajaj SLC coordinator quoted provoking citations about benefits of SLC volunteering. The audience was amazed with the session provided by the respected guest and students were obliged with the information exuberated.

Mother’s Day
Mother's Day was celebrated with lot of enthusiastic zeal in the portals of D.A.V. Model School, Sector 15, Chandigarh. In order to pay a tribute to the motherhood, the children of Pre-Nursery to Class 12 celebrated the day in the school. It was a day of fun and frolic where the young ones from classes Pre Nursery to Class 2 spent quality time with their mother’s and expressed their love for them. The guests of honour were the mother’s and they felt very special.
Students enthralled them with their vibrant, colourful performances. The day proved to be very exciting as all the mother’s enthusiastically participated in various competitions like making photo-frames, bags,best out of waste,paper baskets,dot painting, quick bites qnd salad competition. Students from classes 3 to 5 participated in card making ,students from classes 6and 7 actively participated in speeches and students from classes 8 to 10 expressed their love for mothers through the medium of poetic lines .Students from classes 11 and 12 enthralled all present with their thoughts and feelings well expressed in their articles in honour of their mothers.
Later the principal of the school Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated all the mother’s and gave away prizes to the winners. The function ended with a positive note.

Labour Day
Labour Day was commemorated in the portals of DAV Model School , Sector 15 A, Chandigarh to offer thanksgiving to the supporting staff for their support and contribution in the school.
Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma appreciated their whole hearted efforts and motivated them to continue their services with honesty and integrity. She highlighted the harmful effects of Tobacco eating, Smoking and Alcohol on health , their personal and professional life.
Dr Prachi, School Doctor pointed out the harmful effects of tobacco,smoking and alcohol on physical and mental health.She also pointed out withdrawl symptoms and various ways to get rid of these unhealthy habits.The event ended on a happy note with a light refreshment for the supporting staff.

Healthy Tiffin Day
26th April , 2018
“A healthy mind lives in a healthy body”. We need to take care of nutrition for overall growth and development. With this aim in mind , we at DAV-15 under the aegis of British Council took the initiative to increase cognition among students and teachers about various nutrients and their importance.The Principal Mrs Anuja Sharma motivated the students to take care of their diet and eat healthy and nutritious food.
The teachers highlighted the importance of green veggies and fruits. A Lecture on balanced diet was conducted by school medical officer. The Students were made aware about the Side effects of eating junk food and nutrient deficit diet.
Considering this ,students were asked to bring green tiffin comprising of green vegies and fruits. Children relished the food and participated enthusiastically in healthy tiffin competition. Best tiffin was selected class wise on the basis of innovation , nutritive content and creative presentation.

The School celebrated the commencement of new session 2018-2019 by organising 21 Kundiye Maha Yagya marking the earnest and consistent endeavours of the school authorities for attaining academic and co-curricular excellence .
Honourable Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated all for their enthusiastic participation. She seeked Gods blessings to be bestowed on the students to achieve and excel with their diligent and persistent efforts .
The school echoed vibrantly with religious chants of vedic mantras and all present enjoyed the blissful sanctity of the pious beginning of the new academic session.

National heroes honored
National heroes were honored in the portals of DAV-15 in a special assembly conducted by the volunteers of NSS, peace & eco club. A tribute was paid to our revered nationalist leaders- Shaheed Bhagat Singh & his comrades Sukhdev & Rajguru on their martyrdom day.
Principal Mrs. Anuja sharma inspired the students to be rejuvenated with the patriotic fervor showcased by our national heroes. She motivated them to serve their nation with selfless nationalist contribution as ideal citizens.
A mélange of activities was presented by the students to highlight the efforts & spirit of nationalism, courage & devotion of Bhagat Singh to overthrow the British Raj. The popular song associated with our exemplary leader -“Mera rang de basanti chola” was sung by one & all with nationalist zeal. The program ended with the slogan “Inqalab Zindabad”.

World Water Day
“Water, water everywhere, not even a drop to drink” is a crucial issue to ponder upon. This was raised in the assembly of DAV Model School, 15-A, Chandigarh on the occasion of World Water Day . The event started with the slogan “Lets conserve water for future” raised by enthusiastic NSS volunteers , members of Peace & Eco club and as a part of British Council Activity.. The issues related to shortage of fresh water were highlighted as a part of activity conducted under the aegis of British Council.
The principal, Mrs. Anuja Sharma motivated the students to conserve water for sustainable development of this precious natural resource. To reduce, reuse, recycle, save & utilize every single drop of water, a pledge was taken by Mrs. Anuja Sharma, teachers & students.
Through the medium of various speeches, poems & articles, the students spread awareness on important issues like improved access to water, sanitation & hygiene facilities & need to advocate sustainable management of fresh water resources. A melodious song to preserve this precious natural resource was also sung. The event ended with the rendition of national anthem.

Orientation For Parents
An orientation programme, “First Step” was organized for the parents seeking admission of their ward in Pre-Primary Block of DAV -15, Chandigrah.
The event started with a welcome speech by the Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma. She highlighted the need to impart quality education & sensitize the students in intellectual, social and moral dimensions of life.
This was followed by a counseling session by Dr.Shashi Sethi, an eminent psychologist who addressed the parents on various domains of child psychology. She also showcased the development of a child with respect to physical, spiritual and motor coordination.
There was active participation of parents in this interactive session.

EXAMS AND STRESS MANAGEMENT
A Workshop was conducted in the portals of DAV-15 Chandigarh based on examination skills and various strategies to combat stress. Ms. Jyoti Sharma, Psychologist from Fortis Mohali interacted with students from senior classes. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma highlighted the importance of stress management during exams for efficient results.
Ms. Jyoti Sharma stressed that effective planning and preparing time table were mandatory. Students were told to prioritise the subject matter and schedule their studies by setting their goal. They should take a break for sometimes after one hour and should not use phone or TV or computer during this break rather they should move around and eat their favourite meals. They could also listen to music and improve their concentration by solving puzzles. Making short notes and using mnemonics helps in recalling for a longer period. In fact regular study hours without procrastinating leads to success. Self evaluation and testing boosts the confidence of students. The session was quite interactive and students gained a lot of insight for better results.

SHOBHA YATRA
In continuation with celebrations of 194th birth anniversary of Swami Dayanand under the aegis of Kendriya Arya Sabha (Chandigarh, Panchkula, Mohali Zone) Shobha Yatra was organised by the staff and students of DAV Model School, Sector 15-A, Chandigarh. Principal Anuja Sharma felt elated to see the enthusiastic and religious fervour of all the participants of Shobha Yatra.
The students of Classes 6 and 7 presented a spectacular view based on the theme of HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT of Arya Jan studying in DAV 15. The tableaux showcased various aspects of education honing physical , mental and spiritual growth with amalgamation of religious rituals and vedas of yagya as per Arya Samaj Tradition.
The children exhibited the pious sanctity of Yagya, yoga , empowerment of women in the society bringing in serenity, peace and contentment for all living organisms. The yatra echoed with the chants of vibrant vedic mantras. Children attired as Swami Dayanand, saints, birds and animals highlighted the importance of Arya Samaj principles.

Bidding Adieu-Farewell 2018
The school today bid adieu to the students of twelth class. Most of them were in school since class nursery. It was a miserable moment for teachers and students to part with each other. Innumerable dances on the popular numbers were presented by the students of eleventh class. The dances were very eye catching and enjoyed by the spectators. Melodious songs sung by the students of eleventh class.The entire venue echoed with serene and melodious songs. Himachali dance based on nati formation was mesmerizing. Many students narrated their pleasant experiences of stay in school. The principal of the school Mrs.Anuja Sharma, distributed photographs as reminiscences to the outgoing children as mementos on behalf of school. She also whole heartedly blessed them for a beautiful life ahead. Star achievers who exiled in the field of academics, sports, music , etiquettes and students council members were awarded.

Anukampa – Thanks Giving Day
Anukampa – Thanks Giving Day was organized in DAV Model School, Sector- 15 A, Chandigarh by NSS Volunteers and students of classes 1 to 5. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma highlighted the need to conduct this day to sensitize children about the importance of appreciating supporting staff. She felt delighted to see the magnanimous and kind gesture of small children and NSS volunteers serving food in the community lunch. Prayers marked morning assembly along with a medley of songs, poems and speeches.
The community feeling could be seen in enthusiastic participation of students in community lunch. NSS volunteers gave Thanks Giving Badges to the supporting staff of the school. The event ended on a happy note.

Fire Safety Drill
Fire safety Drill was conducted in the portals of DAV Model School Sector- 15, Chandigarh by Disaster Management Team of the school. Mr. Satpal from CFO, Sector- 11, Chandigarh visited the school and conducted orientation for the students to be aware during emergency caused by fire. The Principal, Mrs. Anuja Sharma highlighted the need to spread awareness about various safety measures during different disasters, especially fire.
There was an interactive session in which Mr. Satpal solved queries of students regarding safety measures during fire outbreak. He also taught the students, teachers and supporting staff of the school about the use of fire extinguishers in the time of need.
The drill was very informative for all present in the school.

WORLD WETLAND DAY
DAV MODEL School Sector-15 Chandigarh celebrated’ world wetland day on February 2, 2018 as per the advisory given by the Department of Forest and wildlife Chandigarh Administration and Yuvsatta NGO. The NSS and SLC volunteers organised Nature Trail at Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma highlighted the need to spread awareness about the importance of nature by organising nature walks and rallies. A special morning assembly was also organised in which students from all classes enthusiastically participated in a plethora of activities like articles, speech and poems.

NATIONAL MARTYRS DAY
The State Legal Cell (SLC) of DAV Model School sector - 15 chandigarh celebrated the martyrs day on 30 january 2018. The day is observed annualy to salute the martrydom of soldiers who lost their lives defending the sovereignty of the nation. The event began with lamp lightning ceremony by the school principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma , Mr. Sanjay Bajaj (SLC CO-ORDINATOR) and the executive members. She also addressed the students and paid tribute to our freedom fighters the students participated in poetry competiton un which they recalled the contribution of various Freedom Fighters in acquiring the national unity , sovereignty , intigrety and freedom to honour the martyrs the students also kept a 2 minutes silence. The winners of poetry competition were aprreciated and apllauded by the school principal. The event ended on a happy note.
REPUBLIC DAY

Republic Day was commemorated in the portals of D.A.V. Model School, Sector-15A, Chandigarh with lot of Nationalist and Patriotic fervour. A melange of activities were organised by the students. The school vibrated with the resonance of Patriotic songs, poems, and speeches, show casing the love and respect for our Nation. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated all present on this auspicious day and motivated them to ignite the spirit of unity and harmony for universal brotherhood.She also highlighted the need to do our duties diligently to safeguard our rights.
The hoisting of the flag was followed with the rendition of our National Anthem.It was a spectacular view created by the release of balloons in the sky depicting different hues of orange, green and white exhibiting peace, prosperity and purity. The NCC cadets,NSS Volunteers and Girl Guides enthralled everyone with a wonderful and well co-ordinated march past.
The event ended with a vote of thanks and to everyone’s delight, sweets were distributed.

NATIONAL VOTERS DAY
The State Legal Cell (SLC) and NSS wing of DAV Model School Sec-15 , Chd. observed the National Voters Day on 25 January as per the directions of the Election Commision of India , New Delhi. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma inspired the students with her valuable words and explained the importance of elections in a democratic country. She emphasised that its our moral duty to cast our precious vote.
On this occasion, a lecture was conducted under the flagship of National Legal Service Authority (SLSA) which imparted and enlightened the students about the role of voters in forming the Indian Political system.The students were informed about the motto of celebrating this day. The students also wholeheartedly and enthuziasticly participated in the gathering.
The NSS volunteers through their articles,poems and speeches provided information regarding voter's day and it's utilisation. They motivated the students to encourage their parents , relatives, friends and others above 18 years to cast vote and elect appropriate candidates. A pledge was taken by the SLC and NSS volunteers to promote the mssion of Election Comission.
The event was quite interactive in which the students gained knowledge about Indian Poltical System. SLC and NSS volunteers appealed the students to spread the significance of this day for the betterment of society.

National Girl Child Day
“Save girl child for better future “With this aim, NSS wing of DAV Model School commemorated National Girl child Day to sensitize about gender equality. Principal,MrsAnuja Sharma, apprised the students about the importance of gender equality and motivated the students to respect and value girls as they play a pivotal role in society.
A plethora of activities – poems, articles, songs and speeches were conducted by students of classes 11 and 12.A skit and role play by the girl students was also performed. The event ended with oath ceremony and singing of the National Anthem. Turban tying of girl students was also done by the principal exhibiting the respect and empowerment of women in the social set-up.

NetajiJayanti was celebrated to commemorate the birthday of Subhash Chandra Bose and HaqeeqatRai.with a lot of patriotic fervour by NSS Volunteers in DAV Model School, Sector-15,Chandigarh under the aegis of Arya MahilaSangathanTricity.The event was attended by Mrs KamleshThareja, President ,MrsUshaJeewan, Secretary and all the respectable members of the Arya MahilaSangathan.Principal Mrs Anuja Sharma felt blessed to be bestowed with their benign presence and prayed to Almighty to enlighten the lives of the students with Arya Samaj Ideals.
The event started with the ceremonial Lamp Lighting amidst the chanting of mantras. NSS Volunteers and the students showcased the life and values learnt by Subhash Chandra Bose througha plethora of activities like articles, speeches,skits and poetry.MrsUshaJeewan,recited poetry which was vibrantly enjoyed and reciprocated by all the students.The members of MahilaSangathangave prizes to the students to motivate them to follow the path of righteousness as manifested by the ideals of Arya Samaj.Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma gave mementos to all the members as a token of love and respect.

The ceremonial Tilak,Yagya and prayers were performed by the Principal studentsand staff members.Children enthusiastically participated in kite flying. The sky presented a spectacular view with different hues and shapes of kites .A healthy yellow tiffin competition was also organised.Children danced and enjoyed the joyous spirit of the day.

Lohri Celebrations
The beating drums, enthusiastic songs, foot tapping dances, bonfire, fun and frolic marked the Lohri celebrations in the portals of DAV -15, Chandigarh. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated everyone and highlighted the importance of Lohri and Makar Sakranti.
The celebrations started with prayers and yagna commemorating the pious festival.Children exhibited their enthusiasm by participating in a plethora of activities - poems,speeches and songs. Principal Mrs Anuja Sharma lit the bonfire amidst the chanting of vedic Prayers. The clichéd poetic recitation of “Sunder Munderiyae” added to the fervour of the celebrations. Mesmerising songs associated with lohri , echoed and vibrated with the thunderous clapping from children. The children and teachers apprised students about the importance of Lohri and religious sanctity of “Makar Sakranti”. This was followed by bhangra and the celebrations ended with happiness all around.

PRAYAS - “Earn While You Learn”.
Commerce Students of Classes- 11th and 12th of DAV-15 Chd, organised a fete named “PRAYAS” 2017 based on the CBSE parameters of “Earn While You Learn”. The event enhanced the Entrepreneurial learning arenas of students. It was inaugurated by The principal Mrs Anuja Sharma. She felt elated to see the exuberant vigour among the students and blessed them to organise such events with their active participation. Colourful balloons were released presenting a spectacular view in the sky. There was a medley of presentations by students which included Songs, Dances and Speeches in the inauguration.
Under this project food, fun and recreational stalls were put up by the students. The main highlight of the day were the chocolates and bhelpuri made by the students. Various games and swings were put up for the entertainment of all age groups.Selfiecorner ,Mehandi and Tatoo Stall and the DJ were the main attraction for the students. Parents and alumni members also enjoyed the Fete.
This Feteinculcated the feeling of team work and social values. It also enhanced the values of compassion as a part of revenue collected was given for charity for the needy and the have-nots.Mrs.Anuja Sharma congratulated the commerce students for the efficient conduct of the fete.

The camp was inaugurated by Principal, Mrs. Anuja Sharma who motivated all the students to participate whole heartedly in different activities related to social awareness and upliftment of humanity, She highlighted the need to organize such camps to sensitize the students on various social issues.
The inauguration of the camp started amidst the atmosphere of religious piety and fevour enhanced by chanting of prayers. This wasfollowed by patriotic songs & Punjabi folkdance- Giddha. There was an interactive session with NSS Alumni Group who inspired and motivated the present NSS volunteers to share and care for the needy .
The NSS volunteers also visited their adopted village KhudaAlisher and conducted a survey of the major problems faced by the villagers and discussed them with Sarpanch in ‘KhulaDarbar’ in order to find solutions to their problems.
A rally was also undertaken by NSS volunteers to enlightenthe rural people about different strategies to ‘Save Prakriti’ environment and savethe girl child.
Lecture session on balanced diet was conducted by Mrs. SweetyBahl. Mr. J.S. Jayara, Principal, School for Blind, Sector-26, Chandigarh spoke about different strategies tokeep positive attitude towards life. He encouraged NSS Volunteers to be true & honest in life.

Sports Day
‘A sound mind lives in a sound body’. With the aim to promote physical, mental and spiritual well being of the students, DAV Model School, Sector- 15 A, Chandigarh once again continued in its earnest endeavours in the Annual Sports Day-2017. Students from classes Pre-Nur to X participated in different races with lot of vigour and enthusiasm.
Principal Mrs.Anuja Sharma congratulated the staff & students for their persistent efforts & dedication. She motivated them to continue in their march towards excellence.
The event started with ribbon cutting by the principal Mrs.Anuja Sharma followed by the release of colourful balloons in the sky presenting a spectacular view. As per the DAV tradition, there was a pious rendition of DAV Gaan followed by the oath taking by the participants to be honest and integrated in different races.
Students of classes 3 to 7, attired in colourful house uniforms of Red, Green, Blue and Yellow showcased the PT drill with lot of coordination and symmetry. Different races like tricycle race, frog race, under the chair, getting ready for school, sack race, lemon & spoon race, three legged race, crocodile race, jump over the partner, needle and thread race, chatti race were organised for the students. Yoga and dance performances alsomesmerised everyone. The winners were awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes with certificate & mementos. The event ended with singing of National Anthem.

It’s Christmas time …… time to be wrapped in love and warmth of God’s blessings.
DAV-15 celebrated Christmas, the festival of happiness and cheer. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma felt elated and blessed everyone withthe joyous spirit of Christmas cheer.
As per DAV tradition, the celebrations started with religious fervour, enthused by chanting of Vedic mantras by the Vedic Club. The holy ambience was nurtured by initiative of Yoga Club exhibiting various aasans empowering, both body and mind, Christmas celebrations bring along lots of happy notes and carol singing which was fabulously done by DPSE students. Students of the Elocution Club chimed bells and sang happy carols.
This was followed by the Nativity Scene showcased by the students of Readers Club and Vocabulary Club. Quiz Club made an endeavour to brush up the memory of all present with different questions related to Christmas, New Years and General Awareness. Reporters Club gave a peep by depicting snippets of events held in school round the year. Science Club students spectacularly exhibited various scientific efforts by young scientists.Personality club students threw light on efficient personality development.First Aid Club gave tips on healing of wounds and importance of first aid. Food and Nutrition Club gave recipe of sumptuous cake which was cut by respected Principalmaam and enjoyed by all. The event ended with lots of dance, happiness and cheerful notes.

A Counselling Session on ‘Coping with Exams’ was organized in the portals of DAV Model School Sector- 15 A, Chd. By Dr. Shashi Sethi, renowned Psychologist of the tricity for the students of classes 8th& 10th.
Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma highlighted the need to counsel the students on the issues related to exams for the optimal use of their potential abilities, which would substantiate their efficient performance.
Dr.Shashi Sethi, assisted by Ms. Komal showcased different strategies for enhancement of better time management, practice, study habits, increase of focus and span of attention thereby leading to higher self esteem. She also stressed upon the use of multi sensory approach to learning. Significance of daily practice of meditation, positive self talk, visualization, deep breathing and effective study habit was also emphasized. Various queries of students were addressed in the end of session. The students felt highly rejuvenated and motivated to excel in their exams.

Inter House Poetry Recitation
Inter House Poetry Recitation was held in the premises of DAV Model School, Sector- 15 A, Chandigarh among the students of classes III, IV and V. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma motivated the students to put in their arduous efforts to express their thoughts and participate whole heartedly.
Children enthusiastically participated in poetry recitation based on varied themes of environment, cultural heritage and moral values. They showcased their verbal efficiency and actions to portray their linguistic skills. To the delight of all, the winners were awarded certificates in the end.

An auspicious evening on 18th Nov 2017- “SWARNIM SAFALAYAM EK SATAT KADAM”under the aegis of Arya PradeshikPratinidhiUpsabhawas organized in the protals of DAV 15 chandigarh. As a divine amalgamation of values of Arya Samaj to commemorate50 glorious years of DAV 15 ,melodious echoes of chants of Vedic Mantra’s, spreading happiness and contentment could be heard in the vicinity of the school.
The idea behind these celebrations has its strong foundation in age old traditions and values as laid down by Arya Samajacknowledging and appreciating the contribution of Swami Daya-Nanda for the upliftment of education. So the Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma, teachers and students of DAV-15rejuvenated with the blessings of Arya Samaj resolved to create and evolve religious and pious ambience.
Dignitaries– Shri H.R Gandhar, Shri R.C Jevaan, Shri S.R Prabhakar, Justice Bahri, Principal Mrs. MadhuBahl, Shri VikramViveki, LMC members, PTA Member, Alumni and Principals from Tricity visited the event. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma felt elated to organize this pious evening showcasing the ideals of Arya Samaj.
About 200 hundred students from Classes 1 to XII participated in the Chanting of Bhajans. An online Essay Writing Competition was also organized in which students from DAV and Non Dav schools participated with lots of enthusiasm and the prize was awarded to deserving candidates. These essay’s were complied in the form of a book named BAL NIBANDH SANGRAHA by Honorable Professor Dr. VikramViveki.

Annual Prize Distribution
Annual Prize Distribution was commemorated in the portals of DAV 15 to honour the star achievers of the academic session 2016-17 from classes III to XII in the field of academics, sports and co-curricular activities.
Formal Director Public Schools ,Mrs.Sneh Mahajan was the Chief Guest and the esteemed Chairman , Shri R.C Jeevan was the Guest of Honour. They blessed the students for their meritorious achievements. Principal Mrs.Anuja Sharma congratulated the students and motivated them to continue their march towards success with persistent hard work and diligent efforts.
The achievers were elated to be bestowed with medals and certificates of excellence by the dignitaries. The event ended on a happy note.

Children Day Celebration
Childrens day is a time for some splashing fun,cheers and jolly time for every child. With this motto to bring sunshine and laughter among our dear students,Childrens Day was celebrated in the portals of DAV 15 Chandigarh,with lot of enthusiasm and gaiety..PrincipalAnuja Sharma blessed the children with her affectionate blessings and highlighted their integral importance in the school and the social set up.She added that these young saplings blossomed into wonderful flowers under the able guidance of their elders.
It was a power-packed day with a plethora of fun filled activities for students of all classes.
The school vibrated and buzzed with laughter and cheer.The day started with pious chanting of hymns and vedic mantras ofhavan followed by morning assembly meticulously conducted by class second children and it echoed with religious prayers.SHO, Mr Lakhwinder Singh also visited the school and blessed the children and motivated them to accomplish every task with passion .He also apprised them about the need to be away from drug abuse for healthy and safe environment.
Students from all classes showcased their talents in a medley of activities –songs,dances,speeches and skits.Teachers also presented an item displaying their love for the children.Students were apprised about the concept of photography in a workshop. Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma distributed sweets among children.
Sports activities were also organised for children of 9th and 10th classes .They all participated with lot of vigour in different races-three legged race,sackrace,longjump,cyclerace,chatirace,blind race and relay race.The winners were applauded for their commendable performance and were awarded prizes and cerificates.The day ended on a happy note.

Blood Donation Camp
`Share a little, Care a little, Donate Blood’

As an earnest endeavour to serve humanity and illuminate the life in peril, DAV-15 Chandigarh organised a Blood Donation Camp on Oct 28, 2017 from 9:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the school premises. The camp was undertaken under the aegis of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha, Chandigarh with the joint collaboration of Rotary Club, City Beautiful.
Hon’ble Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma and her team had been working fervently to make this mega event a success. As a motivating leader, she ignited the spirit among her staff and students to put in their whole-hearted endeavours for this humanitarian task.
Many NSS Volunteers, Alumni members, Rotarians, General public from the vicinity of sector-15, Staff Members, Students and their parents joined hands together to support this noble cause.
A team of doctors from GMCH, Sector-32, Chandigarh conducted the camp and ensured the safety of donors.
Various dignitaries - Sh. H.R. Gandhar (President, APP Upsabha, Chandigarh), Mrs. Madhu Bahl (Regional Director),Mrs. Raj Bala Joshi (Counsellor), Rotarians and all Honourable LMC Members of the school visited the venue to bless the donors.
Adequate supply of bananas, healthy foods and milk bottles were offered as refreshment to the Donors. They were also awarded with a certificate and a memento as a token of appreciation for their kind gesture.
Total 400 participants registered and 213 units of blood were collected by volunteers who enthusiastically participated and came forward to manage the event and support society for their life saving gift of blood.

Diwali Celebration-2017
DiwalI, the festival of lights along with Loy Krathong of Thailand and Lantern festival of china was celebrated with lot of gaiety and fervour in DAV-15 with joint collaboration of British Council, NSS, Kindness Club and Sampada Eco Club. Students presented a spectacular show comprising of a medley of activities on the stage symbolising Ayodhya Nagri. Various skits,dances and songs highlighted Lord Ramas life .Children were beautifully attired in colourful dresses personifying mythological ,Gods and participated in fancy dress competition .
The pious Raj Tilak of Lord Rama & Lakshman was done by Honourable Principal Anuja Sharma amidst the melodious echoing chants of “Jai Shri Ram”.She blessed the students on this pious festival and motivated them to celebrate green and safe Diwali to ensure healthy environment.
NSS students organized a really to spread awareness about green and safe Diwali with the help of banners displaying harmful effects of crackers and poisonous chemicals emitted from the crackers.
Various competitions were also organized and students enthusiastically participated in different creative activities like colourful rangoli, matki making, candle decoration , wall hanging, garland making and decoration of divas to showcasing the gaiety and enthusiasm associated with the festival. All these items were spectacularly arranged by the students. Beautiful krathongs highlighting Loi Krothang festival and lanterns were blown to mark the fervous of our festivals of light celebrated in different parts of world.
The function ended on happy and festive note.

INTERNATIONAL SAVE GIRL CHILD DAY
An assembly was organised by NSS volunteers on 11th oct. 2017 in the portals of DAV Model School 15A ,to commemorate International Save Girl Child Day .Principal Mrs Anuja Sharma highlighted the need to give importance to a girl as in the existence of a girl lies the roots of life.
A melange of various activities were performed by NSS volunteers and the students of classes nursery to 12th like poster making ,slogans ,articles,speech,poetry recitation to sensitize students about the issues of importance of girl child.A wonderful song was also melodiously sung by the students to apprise the students about gender equality.The students gained a lot of cognition and respect for the girl child in the social setup

VISIT TO OLD AGE HOME
11TH OCT 2017
The State Legal Cell of DAV Model School Chd 15-A,along with NCC students and Scout and Guide Girls went for an educational outing to Kartar Aasra old age home .This visit could not have been possible without the able guidance and co-operation of Mrs Anuja Sharma the principal DAV Model School. She motivated the students to be generous towards the aged people and get their blessings .
A total of 35 students accompanied by Mrs Sangeeta Gill and Mr Sanjay Bajaj as teacher incharges went to donate the essential requirements that could be used by the aged residents of Kartar Aasra.The students also prepared a song and play for them.A middle aged volunteer at this multi residence housing facility informed the students that old age homes are the places that must be visited by people to learn the bitter sweet reality of life that is oldage . The students spent more than two hours with the aged people interacting and sharing the best times of their lives.It could not have been possible without the able guidance and co-operation of Mrs Anuja Sharma the principal DAV Model School.

Investiture Ceremony 2017 -2018
Investiture ceremony was held in the portals of DAV-15 Chandigarh to elect student council as the responsible leaders of the school for its efficient working. They were honoured by the school Principal Mrs Anuja Sharma with badges , Mementos and sashes . She motivated them to be role models and set an example before the others . A pledge was also undertaken to ensure honestly and integrity in duties assigned to them.
School Head Boy and Head Girl , Classes representatives from 1-12 ,Presidents and secretaries from different creative clubs, executive members of school council were honoured .A feeling of responsibility and service towards humanity was inculcated among the students .

WORLD ANIMAL DAY
Animals play an integral role in the eco-system. The need of the hour is to sensitise everyone about the importance of animals. So D.A.V. 15 Chd, under The British Council, International Exchange Programme endeavoured to apprise the students about the unique place of animals in maintaining the ecological balance. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma highlighted the need to develop critical thinking to save Endangered species for the survival of humanity.
Students of classes Nursery to 12th engaged themselves in a plethora of activities in the morning assembly to spread awareness about animals and their existence. Students enthusiastically participated in Poster-Making, Slogan-Writing, Poetry-Recitation and Speeches about animals. A Pledge was also undertaken to save animals. The assembly ended with a message that," The Earth was created for all life and not only Humans ".

Dussehra
Dussehra, a pious festival of Hindus was celebrated with lot of zeal and festive spirit in the portals of DAV15. Honourable Principal,MrsAnuja Sharma congratulated all present and highlighted the need to curb the roots of evil at all levels in order to dispel darkness and illuminate the path of life.
A melange of activities—speeches, songs and dances showcased the festive enthusiasm of students from classes Nursery to 12th.A musical depiction of Lord Ramas life and His victory over Ravana was presented with meticulous details by students of DPSE (NTT).
Students showcased ten evils rampant in present social setup through different placards, emphasising the need to eradicate them for better and harmonious living.
The school echoed with rejoicing spirit of festivity culminating in bursting of crackers and burning of effigy of Ravana.
The vicinity of school rejuvenated with enthusiastic fervour with celebrations and happiness all around.

Maan Samaan Divas

Maan Samaan Divas –an event commemorating Grandparents Day was organised in the portals of DAV Model School, SECTOR 15 A, Chandigarh with lot of zeal and fervour. Grandparents of students of classes Pre Nursery,3 ,4 and 5 attended the event .Principal, Anuja Sharma welcomed all the grandparents and thanked them all from the core of her heart to make this event a grand success. She shared her gratitude to the grandparents for being the great support system to their grandchildren and providing them the roots of beliefs, values and their valuable assistance at every step of their life.
The event started with a pious beginning of yajana amidst chanting of vedic mantras seeking the blessings of Almighty. Children expressed their gratitude for the token of love exhibited by grand parents in their daily lives and the quality time send with them as the most cherished moments.
A medical camp was organised with the joint collaboration of People for Human Rights Council, NGO providing protection to the destitute women and children and extending the legal aid to have not’s . The camp was inaugurated by session judge retired Mr. Ram Niwas Singhal and other dignitaries .A team of doctors from PGI visited the camp and did the medical check-up of Grand parents. Eye –check up was done by Dr Vivek from PGI , Dental check up by Dr. Nidhi from PGI, Diet counselling by Dr. Kavita, Acupressure by Mr. Suresh Kumar and Team and Ayurveda treatment by Dr. Avinash Gupta. Medical check up of students was also organised. The Chairperson, People for Human Rights Council , Ms. Shireen Jacob presented the mementos to the Principal, dignitaries and the team of doctors.

Awareness of Water conservation
Water the most precious natural resource needs to be conserved in the present scenario. So DAV -15 organized a plethora of activities in the month of August to spread awareness about responsible management of water and availability of adequate water for sustainable development. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma highlighted the need to develop critical thinking to reduce the effects of scarcity of water and adopt various strategies to save water.
Students whole heartedly participated in poster making, slogan writing, Quiz competition, poetry recitation, PowerPoint presentation and street play show casing various ways to conserve water. A visit to Central Ground Water Board was undertaken to apprise the students about the need to raise the level of underground water by RainWater harvesting. The students also engaged themselves in saving water at home and noted water meter reading to check the decrease in consumption of units. A video conferencing was also conducted with students of Bangladesh to discuss various strategies to save water.

Teachers Day
Teachers Day at DAV-15 is always a very special event and our students make us feel wonderful on this day. Early in the morning, the students welcomed the teachers with enthusiastic smiles and loving hearts amidst loud claps and cheer. Staff felt like celebrities. The students regaled the teachers in the morning assembly with songs, speeches and dance commemorating the contribution of teachers.
Their love for their teachers was palpable in their cards, greetings and smiles. The Principal, Mrs. Anuja Sharma congratulated everyone on this august occasion. She applauded her teammates for their endeavors to reach zeniths of success.
Later in the afternoon the teachers were awarded certificates and mementos by the honorable Principal for their commendable contribution in the overall development of schoolfollowed by sumptuous lunch and vibrant games at Forest Hill Resort. The day ended with a happy note.

DAV 15 organised Talent Hunt – 2017 as a platform for the students from classes 8 to 10 to showcase their various creative potentialities. Principal Mrs Anuja Sharma highlighted the need to hone the creative skills of children for their overall development. She congratulated the students for their whole hearted efforts.
A medley of creative and literary activities were conducted. Students enthusiastically participated in Play, Poetry Recitation, Solo Singing, solo dance, instrumental Painting, Mimicry and Dancing. The school vibrated with all these activities and there was cut throat competition .Students were awarded prizes and certificates for their commendable performance.

SHOUT AND STOP WORKSHOP

‘Shout and Stop Workshop’ was conducted in the school premises of DAV MODEL SCHOOL,SECTOR 15 ,Chandigarh in joint collaboration with CCPCR.{Chandigarh Commission For Protection Of Child Rights} Principal,Mrs Anuja Sharma highlighted the need to sensitise the children about their protection and safety.
The workshop was conducted by Mrs Pratibha Bhandari ,Lawyer, Legal Panel Of CW,POCSO along with Ishaan Dogra,Vrinda Sharma,Counsellor,Women And Child Helpline, Niti Mohan,Consultant POCSO,CCPCR.They apprised the students about good touch and bad touch, Sexual Offences on Internet and child protection.They also distributed pamphlets ,conducted quiz through videos on safety lessons.The children were also told about the” Circle Of Love” which should include people who can touch the child.A video clip”KOMAL” prescribed by CBSE elaborating good and bad touch,child abuse and safety was screened. The children participated actively and had a number of queries which were solved by the counsellors to their satisfaction.

INTERACTIVE SESSION
22ND AUGUST,2017
The State Legal Cell Club of DAV Model school Sector 15 Chandigarh organised a special motivational and interactive session for the students of class 11 and 12. A former alumni of the same school Pragun Anand was the speaker who motivated the students with his powerful and moving speech about the ways to achieve success, manage time and deal with stress. Pragun, 22 currently studying at the University of Frazer Valley in Canada gave examples from his own life in order to inspire the students to follow their hearts and pursue what they truly want to. The school principal Ms. Anuja Sharma addressed the students and elaborated on the need to follow their dreams wisely and inspired them to strive hard for success. SLC club co-ordinator Mr. Sanjay Bajaj also addressed the students and counselled them on the various career choices that could be pursued. The event ended on a positive note.

Akshay Urja Diwas was organised in DAV MODEL SCHOOL,SECTOR 15 A CHANDIGARH with joint collaboration of Renewable Energy ,Science And Technology Promotion Society, U.T,CHANDIGARH.The event marked the commemoration of birth anniversary of Sh. Rajiv Gandhi who initiated to incorporate technology in India.

Independence Day Celebrations
The 71st Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm by the NCC, NSS, Bharat Scouts and Guides students and teachers of DAV-15. The program began with the unfurling of the “Tiranga” by the honourable Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma.
The hoisting of the flag was followed with the rendition of our National Anthem by all present. It was a spectacular view created by the release of balloons in the sky depicting different hues of orange, green and white signifying peace, prosperity and purity. The NCC, NSS and Bharat Scouts and Guides volunteers enthralled everyone with a wonderful and well-coordinated parade.
The ceremonial “Parvesh” of the guides was initiated by the Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma followed by their investiture ceremony. She felt elated and congratulated them all on this proud moment. She motivated them to make arduous efforts in the direction of truth, integrity and honesty.
The students exhibited the national spirit with their ever inspiring patriotic songs, speeches and dances to mark the sanctity of the day. The students of NSS presented a skit portraying the power of Indians to bridge the communal and social differences thereby creating great and united India.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by the Principal who congratulated everyone for the success of the event and to everyone’s delight sweets were distributed in the end.

The pious festival of Janamashtami was celebrated with lot of enthusiasm and religious sanctity in DAV15. The Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma was elated to see the vibrant tiny tots dressed up in colourful attires impersonating Lord Krishna ,Radha and Gopis.She congratulated all and blessed them for their arduous efforts to keep the festive spirit alive.
The students of PRE-PRIMARY Classes were enlightened by the students of DPSE about the life history of Lord Krishnas childhood.Teachers had wonderfully displayed the life story of Lord Krishna in a colourful tableaux which was a colourful feast to the tiny tots and fascinated them.

AKSHAY URJA QUIZ
An awareness quiz about the uses of renewable sources of energy named “AKSHAY URJA QUIZ” was conducted in the portals of DAV MODEL SCHOOL,SECTOR 15 A Chandigarh. Principal ,Mrs Anuja Sharma motivated the students to enthusiastically participate in such activities as they help the students to be updated with the latest scientific advancements.
Students of classes 8th,9th and 10th participated in this quiz comprising of 5 Rounds of MCQs, ONE WORD ANSWERS, RAPID FIRE, VISUAL ROUND AND LOGICAL REASONING. There were five teams namely, Air, Wind, Earth, Sun and Water and there was a tough competition amongst the participants.The questions put forth tested the IQ and Awareness of the students regarding Renewable Sources Of Energy.The quiz was an enjoyable learning experience for all present and winners were awarded prizes and gifts.

RAKHI CELEBRATIONS

The auspicious occasion of rakhi was celebrated with a lot of festive zeal and fervour in the portals of DAV15 by NSS VOLUNTEERS. Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma felt delighted to see the enthusiastic students preparing colourful rakhis. She apprised the students about the importance of the sacred thread.
A special endeavour was done to celebrate rakhi with office staff and the supporting staff by the honourable Principal and NSS Volunteers. Principal Maam motivated all of them to work in unison to promote the overall functioning of the school. She appreciated their indispensable services in the school and motivated them to continue their efforts.
Tilak ceremony followed by rakhi tying was enjoyed by all present. Students presented a medley of activities –skits, poems, speeches, songs and dances to mark the occasion. The event ended on a happy note.

Awareness rally to spread information about various diseases widespread during summer season was organised by NSS VOLUNTEERS of DAV15 CHD with collaboration of Doctors from GOVT HOSPITAL SECTOR 16 CHD .Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma inspired the students to whole heartedly contribute in this noble cause. She highlighted the need to apprise the residents in the vicinity of Sector 15 Chandigarh about various diseases, their causes, and preventive measures for a healthy environment.
Students carried Placards and Posters with slogans about healthy environment to enhance the knowledge of the residents about various diseases like Dengue, Chikungunya .The rally was a successful attempt by the NSS Volunteers to promote health and wellbeing of the society at large.

TEEJ CELEBRATIONS
