Independence Day Celebration’s
Independence Day is celebrated as a proud moment for every Indian.The students, Principal and all the staff members of DAV15 celebrated the 79th Independence Day on August 15, 2025, with lot of patriotic zeal and fervour.
The Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma highlighted the significance of the day to commemorate our brave leaders and freedom fighters of history who valiantly made our country independent.
She motivated all the students to follow the path of righteousness and integrity . On this great occasion, DAV 15 came up with a lot of patriotic activities to help students learn more about the significance of the day.The celebrations started with unfurling of Flag and release of balloons by the Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma followed by March past performed by NSS Cadets,NCC volunteers and Girl Guide Scouts . Students from classes Pre. Nursery to Class 12 participated in various performing arts , skit by NSS Volunteers , dances , songs , literary cultural activities and patriotic celebrations by reciting self composed poems and singing foot tapping songs.
The students celebrated the day and the school vicinity was dipped in tricolour hues and nationalist fervour.The celebrations ended on a happy note with the distribution of sweets.

Echoes of Krishna’s Teachings
A Celebration of Love, Devotion and Divine Joy
In the spirit of devotion and festivity, D.A.V Model School came alive with vibrant colors and joyous hearts as it celebrated Janmashtami—the auspicious birth of Lord Krishna, the divine symbol of love, wisdom and righteousness.
The celebration began with a heartfelt poem, beautifully recited, that paid tribute to Krishna’s leelas, reminding everyone of his eternal message of love and dharma.The little stars of Class I lit up the stage, adorably dressed as Radha and Krishna. Their delightful dance, brimming with innocence and joy, beautifully captured the festive spirit of Gokulashtami and left the audience beaming with smiles.
As the program continued, students of Class XII brought energy and elegance with a graceful dance performance, depicting Krishna’s life—from his playful childhood to his role in the Mahabharata. One of the most enchanting moments of the celebration was the special performance by the gifted DPSE girls. Through a harmonious blend of dance and expressive storytelling, they brought Lord Krishna’s divine journey to life, showcasing a beautiful confluence of tradition, grace and emotion."
The celebration concluded with an inspiring address by Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma, who highlighted the timeless teachings of Lord Krishna—encouraging students to embrace truth, fulfill their responsibilities with sincerity and lead lives rooted in compassion and courage.

Har Ghar Tiranga
The spirit of patriotism was alive and vibrant at D.A.V. Model School as students and staff came together to celebrate Har Ghar Tiranga with great enthusiasm.
The celebration began with inspiring poems and speeches by students, paying tribute to the nation's rich history and the heroes of India’s freedom struggle.
The students were mesmerised by graceful dance performance by the tiny tots of Class 2, whose innocence and energy added a joyful touch to the occasion.
One of the major highlights of the day was "Azaadi Express"—a creative and educational train created by students of Classes 9 to 12, along with NSS volunteers. This symbolic train, led by Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma, was designed to depict various eras of India’s independence movement. Each coach illustrated a significant period, reflecting the struggles, sacrifices and triumphs of our freedom fighters.
As the celebration reached its peak, students raised freedom slogans, waved the national flags and filled the air with patriotic energy. The school echoed with chants of freedom, unity and pride, drawing everyone into the true spirit of Independence.
It was a day of reflection, celebration and inspiration—reminding about the strength in unity and the legacy of our great nation.
World Youth Day & Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign
The NSS Unit of DAV Model School, Sector 15, Chandigarh, observed World Youth Day with enthusiasm and patriotism. Volunteers delivered inspiring speeches and sang patriotic songs to spread the message of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. They also took a solemn pledge to uphold the dignity and respect of the National Flag.The event instilled a spirit of unity, responsibility, and national pride among all present.

Har GharTiranga is an embodiment of the collective commitment to nation-building. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag. A Thread of Love and Respect: Raksha Bandhan at D.A.V. Model School
The NSS unit of D.A.V. Model School celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with great warmth and enthusiasm, reflecting the spirit of unity, love, and mutual respect. The celebration was marked by a series of engaging activities organized by the NSS volunteers.
The event began with heartfelt speeches delivered by the volunteers, highlighting the significance of the festival and its relevance in today’s world. They also sang melodious songs that added a festive charm to the occasion.

“Crafting with care — for siblings and the Earth we share.”
In a unique and thoughtful initiative, D.A.V. Model School organized an Intra-Class Organic Rakhi Making Competition to beautifully blend the essence of Raksha Bandhan with the values of environmental responsibility. The primary aim was to create awareness about eco-friendly practices among students and inspire them to celebrate Indian festivals in a more sustainable and meaningful manner.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of Classes III to VII. Using natural and biodegradable materials like cotton threads, jute, dried flowers, seeds and other eco-conscious items, students crafted unique and vibrant rakhis.

“Veda Promotion Week and Chaturvedashatakam Recitation Yajna”
Under the aegis of Arya Yuva Samaj, D.A.V. Model School, Sector 15-A, Chandigarh, successfully concluded the seventh day of the series of “Veda Promotion Week and Chaturvedashatakam Recitation Yajna” on August 11, 2025 with the closing ceremony.
On this occasion, members of the Arya Mahila Sangathan and many dignitaries were present.
At the main yajna altar, Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma, Dr. Mrs. Saroj Miglani, Mrs. Usha Jeevan, Mrs. Usha Gupta, Mrs. Pratima Bhasin, Mrs. Pratima Khurana, and thr parents adorned the role of Yajman (hosts), while students from classes 5 to 10 actively participated in the yajna rituals. It was a matter of great joy that all students were reciting the yajna mantras with correct pronunciation, which greatly pleased the hosts and parents.
On this final day, the yajna devotees fulfilled their resolution by offering oblations with the last 30 mantras of the Atharvaveda Shatakam. In his yajna message, Acharya Ramesh Shastri said that Panch Mahayajnas should be established in every home to be blessed with happiness and prosperity.
The staff members and the students delighted everyone with two devotional bhajans. Acharya Daudayal Sharma Ji enchanted the audience with his bhajans. Mr. Madhukar Kouda, who attended the yajna daily, highly praised the event on this closing day, stating that indeed, Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma has truly carried forward the mission of Veda promotion.
After the yajna, Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma expressed her appreciation of all the participants and conveyed gratitude to the guests. She also mentioned that this noble work was made possible due to the inspiration and guidance of the school’s Chairman, Arya Ratna, Padma Shri Dr. Poonam Suri , President of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha and D.A.V. College Managing Committee, New Delhi.
The programme concluded with Shanti Path (peace prayer) and distribution of prasad as sanctified offering.

Sixth Day:
In the series of ‘Veda Promotion Week and Chaturved Shatakam Recitation Yajna’ organized by Arya Yuva Samaj, D.A.V. Model School, Sector-15-A, Chandigarh, the sixth day, dated 10-08-2025, commenced with the Yajna ceremony conducted during the Sunday Satsang of Arya Samaj, Sector-16-D, Chandigarh.
The hostel girls of the school , staff members and parents of students studying in the school participated in the Yajna ceremony.
The staff members , and parents acted as Yajman (hosts).Prayers were offered for the happiness and prosperity of all Yajna participants.
On this day, offerings were made through 30 mantras from the Atharvaveda Shatakam, and Yajna Brahma Acharya Ramesh Shastri Ji enlightened the devotees with a brief discourse on the subject matter of the four Vedas and the Upavedas. Continuing the series, Acharya Daudayal Sharma Ji mesmerized everyone with devotional songs and kirtan.
Finally, the program concluded with the Shanti Path and distribution of Prasad as sanctified offering.

Fifth Day
As part of the series of the Veda Promotion Week and Chaturved Shatak Path Yajna organized by Arya Yuva Samaj and D.A.V. Model School, Sector 15-A, Chandigarh, the fifth day of the program was held on August 8, 2025 . The students of Class VII-A participated with religious fervour in the yajna rituals.
The yajna was graced by the presence of Dr. Mrs. Seema Kanwar,Secretary,Arya Samaj, Sector 16, Chandigarh,staff members and parents, who all participated as yajmans (hosts). Special offerings were made through 30 mantras from the Samveda Shatak.
The Yajna Brahma, Acharya Ramesh Shastri, explained that the Samveda symbolizes devotion, and that the art of music also originates from this very Samveda. He also reminded everyone of Lord Krishna’s words — “Vedanam Samavedosmi” — meaning, “Among the Vedas, I am the Samveda.”
Acharya Daudayal Sharma Ji from Arya Samaj, Sector 16, Chandigarh, sang a devotional song about the glory of yajna, encouraging everyone to walk the path of yajna.
After the yajna, the Chief Guest, Dr Seema Kanwar, motivated all yajna devotees to keep progressing on the path of Sangachhadhwam, Samvadadhwam (moving forward together in unity and harmony). She extended her heartfelt best wishes to the D.A.V. Model School , Sector 15 , Chandigarh family for this sacred initiative and expressed her gratitude to the School Principal, Mrs. Anuja Sharma, for this commendable effort.

Fourth Day:
On the fourth day of the ongoing series of the 'Vedic Propagation Week and Chaturved Shatakam Recitation Yajna' organized by Arya Yuva Samaj, D.A.V. Model School, Sector-15A, Chandigarh, the sacred Yajna ceremony commenced on 7th August 2025 with the students of Class VI-B and the Vedic Club.
Under the guidance and inspiration of Padma Shri Dr. Punam Suri Ji, President of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha and D.A.V. College Managing Committee, New Delhi, the mission of Vedic propagation is being carried out continuously and unhindered.
Today, in this divine Yajna, the esteemed chief guests were Shri S.C. Gupta, President of Sanatan Dharma Mandir, Sector-15B, Chandigarh, along with his wife Smt. Rajni Gupta, Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma, and Mr. Madhur Kauda, who served as the yajmans (hosts of the Yajna). Along with the daily Yajna, offerings were made with the recitation of 25 mantras from the Yajurveda Shatakam.
Acharya Ramesh Shastri, the Dharmacharya, enlightened the participants about the significance of the Vedic varna system based on Vedic mantras. He emphasized, "All are born Shudra (unlearned), but through good education and values, one becomes a 'Dvija' (twice-born or refined being)."
In this Yajna, the students, mesmerized everyone's hearts with devotional bhajans. Additionally, Acharya Daudayal Sharma also captivated everyone with his soulful bhajans.
After the Yajna, the special guest, Shri S.C. Gupta Ji, praised the event and
remarked that such traditions of imparting Vedic values can truly be seen in the D.A.V. institutions and once again extended his heartfelt best wishes to all.
Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma expressed her gratitude to all participants and extended thanks to the esteemed guests.

Third Day
Third Day of ‘Veda Promotion Week and Chaturved Shatakam Parayan Yajna’:
On the third day of the series of ‘Veda Promotion Week and Chaturved Shatakam Parayan Yajna’ organized by Arya Yuva Samaj and D.A.V. Model School, Sector-15A, Chandigarh, the Yajna ceremony was initiated today, dated 6th August 2025, with the participation of students from Classes V to X.
Prof. Dr. Virendra Alankar – President, Dayanand Chair, Panjab University, Chandigarh, Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma, and parents of the students graced the occasion as Yajmans (chief participants).
In this sacred Yajna, offerings were specially made with 25 mantras from the Yajurveda Shatakam, and Acharya Ramesh Shastri Ji, as Yajna Brahma, enriched all attendees by explaining the essence of these mantras.
After the Yajna, Prof. Dr. Virendra Alankar conveyed his heartfelt best wishes to all the Yajna devotees and blessed everyone with his inspiring words. He highlighted the significance of Yajna, and said,
"Any task performed with a firm resolution becomes a Yajna in itself, as the scriptures say – ‘Yajño vai śreṣṭhatamaṁ karma’ (Yajna is the noblest deed).”
Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma expressed sincere gratitude to all participants and guests. She shared that the inspiration for conducting this sacred activity has been received from the honorable Chairman of our school and President of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha and D.A.V. Second Day of Veda Week
On the second day of the 'Veda Promotion Week and Chaturved Shatakam Parayan Yajna' was organised by Arya Yuva Samaj, D.A.V. Model School, Sector 15-A, Chandigarh, the Yajna ceremony was commenced today, dated 5th August 2025, with the students of Class VI-A.
Dr. Mrs. Saroj Miglani, Mrs. Usha Jeevan, Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma, Principal B.C. Josan, Mr. Madhukar Kauda, and several parents of the students graced the occasion as Yajmans (chief participants).
In this sacred Yajna, offerings were made with 40 mantras from the Rigveda Shatakam, and Acharya Shri Ramesh Shastri explained the meaning of the Gayatri Mantra, inspiring everyone to walk the path of righteousness.
After the Yajna, Mrs. Usha Jeevan and Principal B.C. Josan blessed all the participants with their kind and inspiring words and expressed gratitude to the organizers.
Thereafter, Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma conveyed her heartfelt thanks to everyone. Finally, the event concluded successfully with the chanting of Shanti Path and distribution of prasad as sanctified offering.
Day One:
Under the aegis of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha , New Delhi, all Arya Samaj institutions and D.A.V. educational institutions are organising the Veda Week Celebration and Chaturveda Shatakam Parayana Yajna in their respective establishments.
In this direction, on 4th August 2025, the program commenced at D.A.V. Model School, Sector 15-A, Chandigarh under the able guidance of Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma in association with Arya Yuva Samaj at Arya Samaj, Sector 16-D, Chandigarh with a yajna ceremony performed along with the students of Class V-A.
In this sacred yajna, Revered Principal Ramesh Chandra Jeevan, Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma, and Acharya Daudayal Sharma graced the occasion as Yajmans. The yajna was sanctified with special oblations offered through 40 mantras from the Rigveda Shatakam.
After the yajna , the students and Music teachers of the school mesmerised all the participants with two devotional bhajans.
Reverend Principal Ramesh Chandra Jeevan blessed all the participants for the successful conduct of this pious activity, and extended heartfelt appreciation to the school family
Learning Through Creativity: Students Exhibit Summer Projects
An Exhibition of Holiday Homework was held at DAV Model School on 2nd August 2025, alongside the scheduled Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM). The aim of the exhibition was to provide students a platform to showcase their summer vacation work and share their learning experiences with parents and teachers.
The exhibition featured a wide range of creative and academic projects, including models, charts, scrapbooks, digital presentations and artwork prepared by students across different grades. Subjects covered included Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Languages and Art.
Students eagerly presented their work, articulating their ideas and processes clearly. The Principal, Mrs. Anuja Sharma, commended their efforts and motivated them to maintain their spirit of inquiry and creativity.
Parents attending the PTM visited the exhibition and expressed their admiration for the students’ efforts and innovative ideas. The event successfully engaged students, teachers and parents in a collaborative learning environment.
The event was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on all visitors and reinforcing the importance of meaningful student engagement beyond the classroom.

Inaugurating the Spirit of Sportsmanship
The Opening Ceremony of the DAV Cluster Sports Games – 2025 (Chandigarh Zone) was held on August 1, 2025 at DAV Model School, Sector 15-A, Chandigarh, amidst great enthusiasm and anticipation. The event marked the formal commencement of the sports competitions among various DAV institutions under the Chandigarh zone.
The ceremony commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by Ms. Anuja Sharma, Principal of the host school, along with Principals across the tricity. This symbolic ritual marked the dispelling of darkness and the invocation of knowledge, wisdom and the spirit of sportsmanship.
Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma extended warm greetings to the participating teams, dignitaries and guests. She emphasized the importance of sports in holistic education and highlighted how such events cultivate discipline, resilience and camaraderie among students.
A brief yet vibrant cultural presentation followed, featuring a blend of traditional and contemporary dance performances and patriotic songs—celebrating the spirit of India and the values of the DAV movement.
The Sportsmanship Oath was then administered, with all athletes pledging to uphold the principles of fair play, integrity and respect throughout the competition.

Girls in Green: Teej Brings Color to Hostel Life!
The festival of Teej was joyfully celebrated at the Girls' Hostel of DAV Model School on July 27, 2025. The event was graced by the presence of the Principal Mrs. Anuja Sharma who inaugurated the program with a warm address highlighting the cultural significance of Teej and encouraging students to stay connected with their roots.
The hostel was beautifully decorated with flowers, rangoli and traditional ornaments. Girls dressed in vibrant ethnic attire, adding charm to the festive atmosphere.
The evening featured cultural performances including folk dances, traditional songs and poetry recitations. A mehendi stall was set up, where students applied beautiful henna designs, enhancing the spirit of the celebration.
The staff also joined in the fun with group activities and games, promoting unity and joy. Traditional sweets and snacks were shared among all. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving behind cheerful memories and a stronger sense of cultural pride and community.

Saluting the Sacrifice: Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebrated with Pride
The NSS Unit of D.A.V. Model School observed Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26th July 2025 with deep patriotic fervour, paying homage to the courage and supreme sacrifices of the Indian soldiers during the Kargil War.
To commemorate the occasion, an online quiz was organized to enhance awareness among students about the significance of the day and the valor of the Indian armed forces. In addition, students created posters reflecting their heartfelt gratitude and love for the brave soldiers who protect the nation.
Principal Ms. Anuja Sharma addressed the students and emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by our soldiers. She urged everyone to uphold the values of courage, service and unity — the very foundation of a strong and united India.

Roots of Change: A Green Step by D.A.V. Model School
In alignment with the principles of environmental sustainability and community responsibility, DAV Model School organised a Tree Plantation Drive on 22nd July 2025. The event was a significant step under the government’s Mission LiFE initiative, aiming to promote sustainable lifestyles and proactive environmental action.
The event was led by Vice-Chairman Mr. R.C.Jeewan , who planted a mango sapling—a living symbol of growth, sustainability and responsibility towards the Earth.
This event was organized by the school's Eco Club "Sampada" under the nationwide Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) initiative. Club members actively participated, turning the event into a fun-filled, educational and collaborative activity that promoted environmental awareness and community spirit.
Together, we planted not just trees, but hope for a greener, cleaner future!

Save Dolphin Campaign – A Step Towards Marine Conservation
D.A.V. Model School actively participated in the Save Dolphin Campaign launched by CBSE on 19th July 2025. The campaign aimed to spread awareness about dolphin conservation and the importance of protecting marine life.
Students took part in a variety of engaging activities, including a painting competition, where they creatively expressed the theme; a pledge ceremony to commit to protecting aquatic animals; and video screenings that educated students about dolphins and their role in the ecosystem.
Additionally, storytelling sessions, mask-making and role plays were conducted to encourage student involvement and deepen their understanding of marine conservation. These activities not only informed but also inspired students to be more environmentally responsible.
The campaign was a great success and reflected the school’s commitment to environmental awareness and sustainability.

“Hug a Tree” campaign.
D.A.V Model School celebrated Van Mahotsav with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of environmental responsibility. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of trees and promote eco-friendly practices among students.
The celebration began with a tree plantation drive, where saplings were planted within the school campus by students and staff members. The activity served as a reminder of our duty to protect and preserve nature.
Following this, students took part in the “Hug a Tree” campaign. This symbolic act allowed them to express love and gratitude toward trees, fostering a personal connection with nature.
As part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative under the Life Mission Activities, students planted saplings. This thoughtful gesture honored the nurturing role of mothers while promoting environmental awareness.


“Say No to Drugs” – Online Awareness Activity on June 26,2025
On the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the teachers of Personality Development Club organized an online awareness session on June 26, 2025 for the students of Personality development Club.
The session began with an informative talk on the harmful effects of drugs and the importance of making healthy and smart life choices. Students were guided about the meaning of Anti-Drug Day, what drugs are, why people misuse them, and how to say “No” with confidence
As a part of the activity,
Students created beautiful handmade posters and badges on A4 size sheets with powerful messages. Additionally, some students gave short speeches during the session. They spoke confidently and shared their views on how to stay away from harmful habits and choose a bright, drug-free future.
The session ended with a strong and positive message. Students were encouraged that if they ever feel sad, confused, or are going through any problem, they should always talk to someone they trust—like their parents, school counselor, or teachers. 11th International Yoga Day
11 th International Yoga Day was celebrated at DAV Model School 15A with great fervor and enthusiasm.on the Morning of 21st June with the theme of "Yoga for One Earth, One Health".
To mark the occasion, a week-long yoga camp was organized in advance, allowing students and staff to immerse themselves in the practice and principles of yoga. The initiative aimed to promote physical well-being, mental clarity, and holistic development of students and staff members.
180 participants including students, parents, teaching staff , support staff, NSS volunteers ,NCC Cadets and Girl guide Scouts with lot of zeal and enthusiasm .
The programme started with a welcome note by the School Principal Mrs Anuja Sharma . She highlighted the importance of yoga in life having a great impact on our heart, soul and mind.She pointed the need to do yoga everyday for a healthy and nurtured life.
The teachers and students under the guidance of Physical Education Teachers and Yoga Instructors of the school performed various yoga aasans like trikonasan bhujangaasan, tadaasan with energetic vigour.All of them did pranayam and undertook a pledge to do yoga regularly.
All clad in white and black chanted "OM" and breathed in peace and tranquillity. A light refreshment was given to all the participants.The event ended on a positive and refreshing note

The fifth and final day of Nikhaar was a vibrant culmination of fun, creativity, and environmental awareness. The day highlighted the critical issue of plastic pollution under the theme “Clean Air, Clean Skies”, led by the Environment Department.

Grade 3–7: Under the banner of "Clean Air, Clean Skies", students took part in an awareness campaign focused on plastic pollution. Discussions, posters, and pledges were part of this initiative led by the Environment Department.

Grade 4: Added flavor to the day by preparing homemade pickle, learning about traditional methods and food preservation.
The Nikhaar festivities concluded with a spectacular band display, showcasing the discipline and musical talent of the students. The performance left everyone energized and proud.

Nikhaar Day 4
Nikhaar Day 4 was celebrated with enthusiasm and purpose, aligning with the observance of the 22nd International Day for Biological Diversity. The day was marked by a variety of class-specific activities designed to foster creativity, health awareness, environmental consciousness, and academic curiosity among students.
Nursery: Children explored their creativity through fork painting, creating beautiful nature-inspired artwork.

LKG: Little chefs in LKG participated in a fun salad decoration activity, learning about fruits and vegetables in a hands-on manner.

UKG: Emphasizing healthy eating, UKG students prepared a healthy meal using sprouts, understanding nutrition in a fun and tasty way.

Nikhaar Day 3: Where Fun Meets Discovery!
Day 3 of Nikhaar was filled with joy, exploration, and celebration across all grades. Each activity was thoughtfully curated to inspire learning, creativity, and cultural pride.
Nursery: Leaf Impression
Our little artists in Nursery explored textures and patterns from nature through a fun leaf impression activity.
LKG: Pool Party
LKG students had a splashing good time at the pool party! Dressed in colorful swimwear, the children enjoyed water play with their peers. It was a refreshing and exciting experience for all.
UKG: Movie Day – Biodiversity Theme
UKG students were introduced to the wonders of biodiversity through a child-friendly movie screening. The film highlighted the variety of life on Earth and sparked thoughtful conversations about the importance of protecting our environment.
Grade 1: Science Experiment & Bubble Bash
Grade 1 students participated in simple and engaging science experiments that introduced basic scientific principles. This was followed by a lively bubble bash, where children marveled at the science behind bubbles while enjoying playtime with their classmates.
Grade 2: Eat Healthy
Students of Grade 2 explored the importance of nutrition through the Eat Healthy session. They learned about balanced diets, identified healthy food choices, and even created their own “healthy plates,” reinforcing the message of well-being through diet.
Grades 3 to 7: My Language, My Pride
A beautiful celebration of linguistic heritage took place through the “My Language, My Pride” event. Students showcased stories, poems, and speeches in Hindi, English and Punjabi embracing and sharing their cultural identities with pride.
Special Band Session
The day wrapped up on a high note with a special band session. The rhythms and melodies energized everyone, creating a festive and unifying atmosphere that had both students and teachers tapping along.

Learning Beyond Books – Nikhaar Day 2 in Action
Day 2 of Nikhaar was an enriching blend of artistic expression, mental agility, and hands-on experiences. Students from Nursery to Grade 7 participated in a series of thoughtfully designed activities that promoted creativity, skill-building, and fun.
Nursery – Hand Printing
Children in Nursery explored color and texture through hand printing, a joyful sensory experience that encouraged motor skill development and self-expression.
LKG – Dance / Story with Puppets
Lower Kindergarten students enjoyed an engaging puppet story session, blended with dance. This interactive activity enhanced listening, imagination, and gross motor skills.
UKG – Mind Gym Games
UKG students participated in stimulating brain games that challenged their memory, logic, and attention spans. The “Mind Gym” fostered teamwork and cognitive growth in an energetic setting.
Grade 1 – Pressed Flower Rocks
Students created artistic rock designs using pressed flowers. This activity promoted fine motor skills, patience, and an appreciation for nature-inspired art.
Grade 2 – Mandala Art
Grade 2 engaged in Mandala Art, focusing on patterns, symmetry, and mindfulness. The calming, detailed work nurtured focus and inner creativity.
Grades 3 to 5 – Handwriting Classes

UNFOLDING JOY AND LEARNING- Day 1

The Summer Camp—Nikhaar Day 1, organized by DAV Model School, was a vibrant and enriching program designed to offer students a balanced mix of fun, learning, and creativity. Tailored for different grade levels, the camp provided students with opportunities to explore, create, and develop new skills in a joyful environment.
Class-wise Activity Highlights:
Nursery: Nariyal Ladoo Making
Young learners were introduced to simple traditional cooking by preparing Nariyal Ladoos. Children participated in a delightful Nariyal Ladoo-making activity, which helped them develop sensory and fine motor skills while connecting with traditional Indian culture.
LKG: Dance/Art and Craft
The little ones enjoyed a blend of dance and art & craft, encouraging self-expression, creativity, and coordination. The dance session enabled them to express joy through movement, building rhythm, balance, and confidence.
UKG: Buttermilk Day
Buttermilk Day was observed, where students learned about healthy summer beverages through a fun and hands-on experience.
Grade 1: Move and Groove
The Move and Groove session engaged students in rhythm-based exercises, promoting physical activity and enjoyment.
Grade 2: Aerobics
The aerobics session was packed with energy as students performed basic exercises to music. It focused on developing stamina, flexibility, and cardiovascular health in a fun and structured environment.
Grades 3–5: Handwriting Classes
To enhance writing fluency and neatness, students from Grades 3 to 5 attended handwriting improvement classes. Emphasis was placed on correct posture, pencil grip, spacing, and consistent letter formation, fostering pride in written work.
Grade 4: Experiential Learning
Students took part in experiential learning activities involving hands-on tasks that encouraged observation, analysis, and problem-solving. This hands-on approach encouraged curiosity, real-life application of classroom concepts, and teamwork.
Grade 6: Vedic Mathematics
A fascinating introduction to Vedic Mathematics was offered, covering:10’s Complement & 100’s Complement ,Overview of Core Sutras, "Ekadhikena Purvena"—By" One More than the Previous One .These sessions enhanced students’ logical reasoning and arithmetic speed.
Grade 7: Healthy Palate
Under the theme Healthy Palate, students engaged in the preparation of refreshing and nutritious fruit punch. This activity not only introduced them to the importance of consuming fresh fruits but also allowed them to explore healthy alternatives to sugary beverages. It was a hands-on experience promoting healthy lifestyle choices in a fun and interactive way.
Grade 9: Wall Mural
A collaborative wall mural project with template cutting encouraged creativity, teamwork, and artistic expression .
Day 1 of Nikhaar turned out to be a vibrant platform for holistic development. It offered students opportunities to learn, create, and grow beyond the traditional classroom. Each session reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals through meaningful and enjoyable experiences.

A national campaign on Ashwagandha
A national campaign on Ashwagandha was recently organized by the Ministry of Ayush, National Medicinal Plants Board to promote awareness about the medicinal benefits of Ashwagandha. As part of the campaign, various activities were held, including a painting and essay writing competition focused on the theme of Ashwagandha.
Students enthusiastically participated in the competitions, showcasing their creativity and knowledge. In the essay writing competition, Simmi secured the 1st position and was awarded a cash prize of ₹2500. Mehak achieved the 5th position and received a cash prize of ₹1000. Both students’ essays were recognized for their insightful content and have been published in a reputed magazine, adding to their achievement.
The event successfully highlighted the importance of medicinal plants and encouraged young minds to engage with traditional knowledge systems.
Delphic Club Students performed Sarswati Vandana on 25/04/25 At NTTTR institute sector 26 chd organised ,National Campaign on Ashwagandha.
The orientation for students of classes 9 and 10 focused on stream selection — a key decision point in their academic path. The session aimed to:
- Educate students about the different streams available after Class 10: Science, Commerce, and Humanities.
- Highlight the subjects offered in each stream.
- Discuss the skills, interests, and career opportunities aligned with each stream.
- Emphasize the importance of self-awareness and aptitude in making an informed decision.
Students were encouraged to assess their interests and strengths through available tools like aptitude tests, counseling sessions, and parental discussions. Real-life examples and success stories were shared to help students relate and make thoughtful choices.
The session for senior students (Classes 11 and 12) centered around the theme of emerging careers. Key highlights included:
- Overview of rapidly growing career fields such as Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Environmental Science, Digital Marketing, Biotechnology, and Cybersecurity.
- Discussion on skill-based education, online certifications, and interdisciplinary studies.
- Importance of internships, workshops, and networking in gaining industry exposure.
- Future job market trends and how to stay relevant in a competitive global environment.
The session concluded with a Q&A round, where students interacted with the speaker(s) and received personalized guidance on their areas of interest.
Our school celebrated Earth Day with great enthusiasm and zeal. The assembly began with a warm welcome and an introduction to the significance of Earth Day, highlighting its theme of environmental protection.,our power our planet
- Pledge for the Planet: Students took a pledge to protect the Earth and conserve natural resources.
- *Earth Day Skit Students performed eco-friendly skits and, showcasing their creativity and passion for the environment.
- Bhoomi Mangalam: Students presented Dance on five elements .
- Eco-Quiz: A quiz competition was held, testing students' knowledge on environmental facts and trivia.
- Date analysis on forest cover of world ,India and chandigarh was presented.
Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony for the session (2024-2025)was successfully held on April 7th 2025,marking a memorable event in our school calendar.
✅This year, we had the privilege of felicitating and awarding 63 outstanding students in Academics. Students from class III to class XI were recognized with Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals and certificates for their exceptional Academic achievements.
✅ In honor of our school's theme for the year *Sahbhagita Year* – we aimed to not only celebrate academic excellence but also to foster a sense of community and mutual respect among students. As part of this initiative, we invited parents to join us for this special occasion.
✅Additionally, a unique tradition was introduced where parents of senior class students were tasked with awarding medals to our junior students, and vice versa, symbolizing the shared bond between all grade levels.
It was heartening to see the overwhelming support from both parents and students, making the event all the more memorable.
We sincerely hope that the continued spirit of learning and camaraderie will inspire even greater achievements in the future.
The Principal, Mrs Anuja Sharma, 45 teachers and 505 students from Casses 6 to 12 joined hands in celebrating the Utsav of Examinations, “ Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025 as envisioned by our Honourable Prime Minister,Sh Narendra Modi, in order to make learning more joyful for our future nation builders.
The Prime Minister motivated the students and told the parents to understand their children,monitor them and give wings to hone their potential.
He also stressed the teachers to scold the students in isolation and not in front of the other students.
1)They should be attentive and focused and to accept challenges themselves.
2) They should set achievable goals and self reward themselves.
3) They should turn their failures into lessons 4) Technology usage should be optimum as a power and not like a cyclone.
5) They should work persistently with positive approach.
6) Time stress in exam can be reduced by practising previous years papers which will help them learn strategies to attempt paper well in time.
7) They should also lead a Lifestyle for environment by taking care of nature and natural resources
The students felt rejuvenated , energetic and highly motivated to appear in forthcoming examinations.
