DAV Model School organized an orientation session for the parents of Class X students to acquaint parents with the latest changes in the academic structure and evaluation system. The session aimed to create awareness about the shift in teaching-learning practices and to strengthen the partnership between school and parents for the overall development of students.
The orientation highlighted the transition from traditional rote learning to competency-based education. Parents were informed that the focus is now on developing conceptual clarity, critical thinking and the practical application of knowledge rather than memorization. 
Parents were introduced to holistic assessment, which evaluates students academic performance along with skills, behavior and overall development. Another important aspect discussed was the typology of questions in the new examination pattern. Parents were introduced to different formats such as case-based questions, assertion and reasoning, source-based questions and application-oriented problems. 
The orientation also provided information about skill subjects such as Information Technology, Marketing and Sales and Artificial Intelligence was shared to highlight career-oriented learning opportunities.Parents were urged to regularly monitor their child’s studies, ensure timely completion of work and stay actively involved, while maintaining communication with teachers and participating in school activities.The orientation program successfully guided parents about the evolving education system and highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in nurturing responsible, skilled and confident learners.
