NCC- At a Glance
The National Cadet Corps (Hindi: राष्ट्रीय कैडेट कोर) is the Indian military cadet corps with its head Quarters at New Delhi.
The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, colleges and Universities all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on the achievements in the corps.
 
The aims of NCC are
To develop qualities of Character, Courage, Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure and the ideals of Selfless Service amongst the Youth of the Country.
To Create a Human Resource of Organized, Trained and Motivated Youth, to Provide Leadership in all Walks of life and be Always Available for the Service of the Nation.
To Provide a Suitable Environment to Motivate the Youth to Take Up a Career in the Armed Forces.
 
Training Activities
Based on the aims of the NCC, the Organization has laid down Training Syllabi for the cadets. The syllabi for the Junior Division Cadets cover a period of two years. The training schedules planned for the cadets ensure that the benefit of the organization reaches the maximum number of cadets.
 
NCC In School
A troop of 50 cadets (J.D. boys) was started in 2009 and enrolled with 2nd Chd. Battalion NCC, Chandigarh. Under the able guidance of Mr. Ramesh Sharma (Lect. Physical Education)Care Taker, the troop has been participating in different activities conducted by the Unit from time to time i.e.
 
  • Attended parade (drill & march past) taught by P.I. Staff of the unit.
  • Troop participated in “Save Sukhna Lake Abhiyan” held at Sukhna lake Sec-1, Chd. conducted by Chandigarh Administration.
  • Cadet took part & successfully cleared ‘A’ Certificate Examination conducted by 2nd Chd. Battalion NCC, Chandigarh.
  • 8 Cadets were also a part of Combined Annual Training Camp (ATC) conducted by 2nd Chd. Battalion NCC for 10 days held at CCET Campus Sec 26, Chandigarh & bagged 4 positions in different competitions.

  • Line Competition 3rd position in group competition.
  • Firing Competition 3rd position in individual competition.
